Damn. You know Trump is on the wrong side of the issue when even Fox takes a stance against him.

Fox News announced today that it will back rival network CNN’s lawsuit against the Trump administration over the White House’s revoking of CNN reporter Jim Acosta’s press credentials. "FOX News supports CNN in its legal effort to regain its White House reporter’s press credential. We intend to file an amicus brief with the U.S. District Court," the right-wing cable channel’s president Jay Wallace said in a statement.

"Secret Service passes for working White House journalists should never be weaponized," the network added. "While we don't condone the growing antagonistic tone by both the President and the press at recent media avails, we do support a free press, access and open exchanges for the American people."

Fox really is a partisan "news" oufit, and while it seems happy to be part of Trump's propaganda team at the moment, if we ever have another President, it doesn't want this precedent.

In other words, Murdoch wants to be making money after Trump is gone.
@Pikachu I don't really think he's planning that far ahead, but he has joked about being President for life, and he's working hard at deconstructing the democratic state.
@MistyCee

Yeah i hear ya. That may be a bit hyperbolic but i am legitimately concerned about the way this president is attempting to erode the foundations of a free and democratic society
@Pikachu to be fair, I think he's all about winning. He wants due process for himself and his friends and thinks he should have first amendment rights, but doesn't think it's important for those who don't support him.

When Obama was President, he bitched about overreaching executive orders for example.

It is impressive to see Fox News and CNN on the same page, but they really have to be in this situation. Freedom of the press is a constitutional right, and abridging it could affect and and all of the news outlets.
@Laifu

Yup.

I actually think they should be used as a weapon of last resort. Warn the prep, slap them on the wrist. Then give them the boot for being pricks.

Our media is starting to get out of control imho. Both sides.
AceWarbringer · 36-40, M
@jackjjackson exactly. I think that's what happened here too. And i think that there was a report of someone drafting a code of conduct like that as well.

I just hope it's impartially and infrequently enforced. Sometimes those conferences get rowdy
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
There is rowdy which is fine and there is behavior far outside of reasonable decorum is not. @AceWarbringer
AceWarbringer · 36-40, M
@jackjjackson almost, it's the white house for frocks sack.

Fox news agreeing with CNN, Tucker Carlson agreeing with a socialist...WTF?! Is objective thought and common sense making a comeback?
@vader2112

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here lol.
I think this is purely self interest. Freedom of the press is important even to Fox.

@Pikachu I'm trying not to, but it's been a weird week!
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
..... while their news journalists still attack him.

🤔
@RodionRomanovitch

right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing lol

@Pikachu Just more hypocrisy , as usual.
