He didn't kill people because he's an illegal immigrant. He killed people because he was a troubled, violent man.

Nobody released him because he was in a sanctuary city. Anyone in violation of the law is subject to the law. Would these three specific people still be alive if not for this man? Maybe, but he'd have committed crime somewhere else. If we're kicking people out due to crime, we're going to be about half empty by the end of the week.

@Graylight I'm not here to argue, just to nitpick.

He didn't kill people because he's an illegal immigrant. He killed people because he was a troubled, violent man.
Strawman. Nobody claimed that his being an illegal immigrant caused him to kill. It was only claimed that he is a murderer who happens to be illegal, which is true.

Nobody released him because he was in a sanctuary city. Anyone in violation of the law is subject to the law.
The circumstances of the case are that he was arrested for domestic violence and held in Middlesex county, NJ from December to February, at which point ICE was not notified. ICE requested a detainer when he was initially arrested, which was not honored by the county. Middlesex county has a policy of not informing ICE when they release illegals without prior first or second degree convictions because they are a "sanctuary county". I've actually lived in Middlesex county for years and can confirm that they're utterly unwilling to comply with federal law in this regard.

Would these three specific people still be alive if not for this man? Maybe, but he'd have committed crime somewhere else.
Another strawman. Nobody claimed that he wouldn't have been a criminal if he wasn't in America. It was only claimed that if laws regarding deportation were honored by Middlesex county, then he wouldn't have been able to be a criminal in our country.

If we're kicking people out due to crime, we're going to be about half empty by the end of the week.
Hyperbole is not an argument.

No actual, productive argument you can offer, huh?
Let's be honest here, no one in this comment thread had any arguments that hold water, including you.
@cultofaction How about we just give this dirtbag what he deserves. Oh I have an unrelated home improvement / gardening question. --- Does Home Depot still sell rope by the foot ? I am talking about thick hemp rope.

(I sent this empty response by accident, but it sums up the effort your post demands, so...)

Sanctuary policies make solid pragmatic sense in immigrant-heavy areas - nobody is better off when there is an underclass that can’t call the cops.

But any sort of violent convictions should void any sanctuary protections, domestic violence included.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
It's unfortunate that ICE has watered down it's own reputation so that many communities view their warnings as crying wolf.

ICE does not distinguish actual criminals from people who are deemed criminal where their solitary crime is an immigration crime.

Not all criminals are the same... but ICE is being governed as if they are.

Also note that the guy that shot up that club in California was a proud member of the military and while he had had problems with law enforcement in the past, there wasn't enough to detain him. There's now evidence that he was likely suffering from PTSD.

What does one have to do with the other you may ask?

No. Not guns. I'm not going there.

Police make mistakes. They are human. The people who had this guy in custody are likely kicking themselves for letting this guy go. They have to live with the decision of releasing him.

Conflating this with immigration issues is disingenuous.

This happens on almost a daily basis. But just like the fact that 90-95 % of the caravan is male, it doesn't fit in the left's narrative so certain media will not report it.
I think under Obama, bringing Syrian refugees here, the majority were males. They should have stayed in Syria and fought for whichever side they believed in. Oh, wait, I'm not being politically correct...shame on me!@katielass

Say no more...Fox news!! Who pixalated the Trump stickers, on the pipe bombers truck!!!!!!
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Harriet03 Fox News is shit and spins like crazy - but like most mainstream media organizations, they rarely make things up wholesale. This happened.
Northwest · M
@QuixoticSoul I posted the link to the actual article. Ironically, the content of the article, contradicts the header. Not surprising, nor new, given the audience.
Family. Should sue the mayor..
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Do they have "sanctuary cities" for illegal immigrants in Australia ??
@YourMomsSecretCrush hell no.. the mayors and councillors would still be hanging from yard arms.
Offshore detention and redeployment elsewhere
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@QuixoticSoul True, but as his non white there coverage is more prominent
When and where did this occur? A lot of "fake" news, and misleading pieces showing up. Not saying this isn't true, but if there's a credible source or more, can you supply them, so we can check?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@soar2newhighs In Missouri, a few days ago.
OK, will check it out. Hopefully, being it's reporting three deceased at the hands of this individual, that it is fake news. Thanks for the heads up.@QuixoticSoul
@QuixoticSoul Checked it out-sad. We're fucked up in this country, and as a result, three people are now dead.
For those arguing this situation, it'd be best if the families of the three deceased weigh in on this. Had he been in Mexico this would not have happened. It's tragic, but lay the blame mostly where it belongs...at the feet of the feckless Administrations who couldn't or refused to deal with immigration.
anybody surprised. doubt it.

In reality, here's what happened:

https://www.foxnews.com/us/undocumented-immigrant-released-from-jail-charged-in-triple-murder

Of course, Fox chose to quote a part of an ICE official's statement, but not the police, but I'm sure you should be able to read the entire article.
Par for the course - what a f*kn surprise.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@MarmeeMarch Not innocent. You really need to work on the meaning of words.

He's guilty, but not because he's an illegal immigrant. Because he's a domestic abuse and killer.
@Graylight Oh my - did you think of that all by your little ole self ? of course thats the reason -- OMG you really need to be clipping coupons and worrying about the price of chicken.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@MarmeeMarch Small man making himself feel big.
