is white house wrong for revoking press credentials of jim accosta ?

SW-User
Yes they are. And showing that doctored video further proves they were wrong for doing so. Supporting the reason a journalist was banned because he/she was rude and disrespectful has to be the dumbest excuse I’ve ever heard.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
You mean fabricating an assault claim in order to eject a reporter unfavourable to the President?

Yeah. That's not how a free press functions.
@CountScrofula Thank you ! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Budwick · 70-79, M
No, rude, disrespectful reporters should not be allowed in.
Just ask your questions and take note - that's all they have to do.
Reporters are not there to make or discuss policy - just gather information and report the news accurately.
daisymay · 51-55, T
@Budwick Yeah, you did in another thread where you asserted that the claim of the rise of right-wing violence was
Total bullshit

So, care to lie some more?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@daisymay Sure, I'll tell you a lie.
I like you.
daisymay · 51-55, T
@Budwick It should be easy fo you to provide the stats to prove your "total bullshit" assertion, yet you have refused multiple times. Why?
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
JUST EVERBODY CALM DOWN! TRUMPS GOING TO BE LOCKED UP ONE DAY...THEN WE'LL ALL HAVE A NICE DRINK TOGETHER.
unless Russia gives him asylum!!
Goodnight xx
curiosi · 61-69, F
Nope not wrong and Obama did it for less than that so the left needs to shut their pie hole.

daisymay · 51-55, T
@MarineBob Were any of my responses directed to you? Somebody sure has a mighty high opinion of himself!

Watch out for that fall, proud boy.
Thanks for enlightening me. Yes, as reported and shown in this thread, it is fake news.@daisymay
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Is not that what YOU do albeit from left wing sites? @windinhishair
xixgun · M
Absolutely not, nor are they banning CNN from sending reporters; they are simply stopping one reporter who did not appreciate the courtesy extended to him when he received WH press credentials to begin with. He was crass, rude, unprofessional, and failed to follow the basic tenet of journalism - namely, tell the story, don't become the story.
Pherick · 41-45, M
Yes. Tough press? Oh well, not the press' job to be sunshine and sweetness. Its the only institution mentioned in the Constitution and given protection there, so yea, the Founders thought it was important.
SW-User
No...I’d say he was being rude enough to warrant it. But the WH statement of him “assaulting an intern” was total bullshit.
If it was the whole network yes but for one loudmouth who likes to argue and take time away from other reporters, no.
4meAndyou · F
There was another reporter whose White House press privilege was also removed, but no big fuss was made about him. I can't even find his name on google now. He went on a huge rant to Sarah Huckabee Sanders to star himself/ grandstand for the videos and he was gone the next day.

Let's face it, Jim AccostHer is a very rude and confrontational reporter at the best of times and on that day at the White House he did NOT shine even before he laid one of his hands on an intern to prevent her from taking the mike. That behavior is just wrong. It's wrong six ways from Sunday. You don't grab or handle or push or even touch young women who are trying to do their jobs. You just don't.

I am thrilled that his WH press privilege was removed. Is the President supposed to allow someone from the press in there who thinks it is all right to be physical? With anyone? What will he do next when he doesn't get his own way? I don't think so. You have to think about AccostHers mental state, where he lost control even to that extent. He's obviously not stable.
4meAndyou · F
@MarineBob I think any OTHER reporter from CNN has a perfect right to be there, and any OTHER somewhat mentally stable relatively calm CNN reporter can go to the WH and annoy hell out of us with his or her stupid questions and he or she has a perfect right to do so. CNNs lawsuit can not legally be discussed by their reporters while it is pending and/or in process.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
not legally is the key words
4meAndyou · F
@MarineBob If a reporter were to discuss the case during a WH press conference their suit would be void.
TexChik · F
Absolutely not! In fact the whitehouse should provide them with the rules of decorum . If the “ journalist “ botched it once... none of his questions will be answered . Twice and they are banned . There should also be seating assignments. ... which are strictly enforced. The libs will be so busy whining about it that Trump won’t have to field a single question
MarineBob · 56-60, M
no, and they should immediately ask all outlets to change up their staff, no use in letting them get comfortable
MarineBob · 56-60, M
no, but it should have the say on who is allowed in the whitehouse and on the planes
Pherick · 41-45, M
@MarineBob So what do you think of the Founders giving the press protections in the Constitution? Just not concerned with that?
daisymay · 51-55, T
@MarineBob Hmm, the Constitution doesn't seem to allow for that.

So, you're just trying to play both sides. You're glad Acosta had his credentials revoked because it makes the Orange Moron feel like a big man. Sad.
Withintent · M
No he's a prick
If Trump is afraid to answer questions being asked by news sources not in his pocket (Fox, Breitbart, et al), it makes sense. And having Hucka-Sand post edited footage to demonize Acosta is a page out of the Fascist handbook.
Let's see why they say they pulled his credentials play out a little more. There is almost sure to be some backpedaling and the like.

Accosta was being a pain in the neck; he's trying to play Trump's game, which I don't much like.

The intern stuff and the "sped up" video from Infowars is just unbelievable, but it's actually part of a bigger issue than press passes.
katielass · F
Absolutely not. Journalists are supposed to report the news, not make it. That dickwad is always trying to make news. He overheard someone say he was "special" once and he mistakenly thought it was a compliment.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
First Amendment rights of freedom of the press and Fifth Amendment rights to due process will prove that to be the case.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@Budwick Trump can't even open his shithole mouth without lying..... not that it bothers you of course.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@RodionRomanovitch Coldhand - Is it all the winning that is bothering you?
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@Budwick lol .... tell me another.

No. I think they should exclude all press from the White House and Air Force One.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
In the scheme of things it doesnt matter. The serious journalism isnt done by the White House TV types anyway. But its great theatre.
abhinav · 26-30, M
i think both trump and accosta have crossed their lines.
Is it in the purview of the White House to do so? That would quickly answer the question, I'd think.
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
Makes it look like Trump is running away.
