Ban all religious symbols, outside the home!
SW-User
@Harriet03 Burka is not a religious symbol lol.🙊
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@SW-User True, but it has been turned into one. Covering is mentioned only twice specifically, in the Koran. Breasts & private parts, no mention of face at all.
SW-User
@Harriet03 Um not really tho. Covering has been mentioned like every where in literally every religious scripture. And no Islam hasn't used the word "burka" as we know it now. Islam describes it as something that means "inconspicuous". It's a pretty relative term depending on which community you're a part of.

@Harriet03 Sorry I don't mean to be rude at all. 🙊 Just yknow clearing things up.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@SW-User Of course, debate is healthy. I if you notice, have not used the term 'Burka'
Sadly in some countries, it is definitely not a choice.
SW-User
@Harriet03 no way of dressing should be mandatory or totally abolished.
I personally like Goth style of dressing but sadly it's pretty much looked down upon and I most probably would have no job opportunities if I wore blue lipstick and tattoos 😥

@SW-User ASK HER?

@Harriet03 she looks pretty hip😎
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@SW-User What about her I'D card?
SW-User
@Harriet03 that would be hip if she WANTED to dress that way. I as a third person don't know her personally so I have no idea.
Yes no country should be ORDERING a certain way of dressing up. That's what I just said in my last comment. Let people breathe. And hold your men accountable for their actions for goodness sake. By DEMANDING a certain way of dressing up for women, you're just lifting responsibility off ALL your men's shoulders. And Islam is AGAINST it. Because covering up for a woman is a personal choice in the end. What is mandatory??? Being modest and inconspicuous. I wouldn't have noticed this lady in a hundred year in that stadium. It really annoys me how misinterpreted Islam is even BY the islamists themselves.

And who's to say that their interpretation is not correct?

Maybe you and I don't like the results of their interpretation. But stop pretending it's "misinterpreted" just because you don't like how Islamic fundamentalists interpret their religion.

@beckyromero Religion, FULL STOP!
SW-User
@beckyromero It's true, it's very difficult to interpret Islam. But it's NOT supposed to be made so hard to understand either. Islam was a promised religion for ALL future time to come. So it's interpretation WILL differ according to the era we belong to.
That being said, the fundamentals of Islam are for someone with very strong nerves who is NOT tempted toward anything of this temporary world. Which is impossible understanding the fact that to err is human. YES it's true that an extreme ideal of living life ONLY for God, with very few possessions, and very basic food, have been portrayed in Islamic history. But it is the IDEAL. It is there for anyone who might want to FOLLOW it as a whole, but even if one tries partially, they're better than one who never tried at all. Which is why God stated in Quran that "there is NO compulsion in religion" which means just TRY and that's all that matters. I'm against fundamentalists because they forget that we are humans. Not robots. And extremism in anything cannot result in peace. And who is to say that the so called "fundamentalists" are always right in their interpretation?
In the end, maybe all of us are wrong. Who knows? The best thing is to STOP JUDGING PEOPLE AND START ACCEPTING THEM FOR WHO THEY ARE AND THEIR PERSONAL CHOICES.

And this is meant for everyone.

@ValhallaAwaitsUs Most Christmas traditions have more to do with Paganism. Than that silly novel
