I would prefer if Democrats and progressive thinkers took the high road on this issue. However, to demand civil and respectful behavior after setting a precedent and fostering a culture of divisiveness, mockery and alienation is not only unfair, it's unrealistic.
Respect is given to those who earn it, and Trump's policies, words and actions all indicate otherwise. It cannot be acceptable to back uncivil actions because you agree on dislike of the target and then condemn incivility when the roles are reversed. Perhaps if Trump engendered integrity and open discussion without petty judgement and bullying, the opposing side would recognize and respect that.
It's unfortunate and shameful that the country is spiraling into this adolescent way of being, but it's hardly mysterious as to why.

I think everyone, both parties, have gone too far. The abuse that's being heaped upon anyone who may disagree with another is unconscionable. There doesn't seem to be any respectful discourse any more.
I'm not a fan of Trump's but kicking someone out of your restaurant because you don't like the fact they work for the man is going too far IMO.

@QuixoticSoul It wasn't harmless when the owners of the Red Hen followed Sarah's family to the next restaurant with a crowd and heckled them there.

Oh for crying out loud. I'm not going to get into a debate on how deep all this goes. EVERYONE has crossed a line. I feel as if the lunatics have all been allowed to run the asylum. ALL the politicians are a bunch of narcissistic aholes as far as I'm concerned.

Have you read Trump's tweets, say, over the past 6 years?

Sound like the alt right to me. Remember your big klan meeting in Charlottesville?

I don't think that's what is happening... I think people are genuinely appalled at the way some elected officials are behaving.
I seem to remember people (and the GOP) behaving pretty disgracefully to the Obamas... memes likening them to monkeys, gross racism, the whole birth certificate conspiracy...or have you forgotten about that?

If we are talking about the D.S.A. here, don't stress it, democracy is already dead.

I never called Americans dumb, I called hating on your own people dumb, it its smart then OK I guess. Heres a video to explain what I'm on about:

@ButterFly2023 Your video didn't post. Anyway, of course some people are going to hate on each other. That's not what my question is about.

Well... since we're starting to harass and bully each other to the point that freedom is meaningless-- I guess this is a natural progression.

No they should not. But all we see is one side attacking the other instead of dealing with real issues that need their attention.

@Beerless tbh I'd like you to leave, or at least give control back to the indigenous population. You fkd it royally. It's time to stop.
Beerless · 100+, F
@SW-User See, most of us would not consider that to be a solution. We kind of think it would be much worse, but thank you for answering.

@Beerless that's a utilitarian approach. You should give up your empire and accept you have burned your bridges to your mother lands.
And you are welcome. I hope you find a solution for the world's sake, I fear the states more than Russia and China at this present time.

Didn’t SCOTUS rule that one can use personal beliefs or values as a basis for refusing to do business with someone ? Or is it somehow different when a conservative is refused ? 😒
