I hate those goddam liberals grrrr!

OK folks. I know its not actually a question but then neither is anything else on the politics section today. I think we need to raise the political discourse level a tiny bit.

Why not talk to people and engage with their ideas? You might disagree with their ideas and you can say so.

Wake up America! It is time to dump the Trump! He is a disease within our country. He is immoral. He lies about anything and everything. He is getting"in bed" N. Korea and already in bed with China and Russia for his own financial gain. He has alienated our closest allies. What more can he do before we wake up and toss his ass out into the street!
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Isn’t that somewhat offensive to the rest of the wankers? @TheOneyouwerewarnedabout
TryMe · 22-25, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I don't really think you touched a nerve with anyone. No one seems that upset with you, more just disappointed that you seem unable or unwilling to engage. Anyway, good luck.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@TryMe He does that. Post a meme, claim victory, lol. He's clueless even by the standard of teenaged alt righters and he's a man in his 30s
How is it possible to have a reasonable discussion with someone that calls other people who don't agree with them LIBTARDS ? They don't understand that Liberals are concerned with improving the Human Condition in the USA to include ALL people in education, health care, equal pay, basic human needs, while we have so many sick, disabled, hungry, elderly, homeless people, in our streets. Many are children and VETS. When they accuse Liberals of wanting everything for free ???? They don't understand, or don't want to, that the only thing that we have to rely on is each other and if we cant rely on the Truth, from each other, then we have nothing.
I don't know.

I block no-one and find myself blocked by a huge number, even though I don't think I come off particularly politically heavy.

I've been blocked for believing in global warming, challenging flat-earth science, insisting that Islam was a dominant cultural and political theme in Asia, not liking Donald Trump, not liking Hillary Clinton, insisting that various things in the media were diversions and distractions...

I found it cute at first. Now I find it a little scary...
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
It is very interfering that there is a groups of people (I don’t know how large, here on SW and I believe extrapolating to the general population) that simply want to hear what they agree with and have no interest in any other ideas or possibilities.

This groups wants reality to be their way and by silencing anything challenging thst they are able to have it this applies to all areas on the cultural and political spectrum.

Many it’s as simple as whether or not one believes there is value in listening or reading ideas different than ones own. Baffling. . @CopperCicada

So here's the state of our politics, people will side with enemies just because they'd rather not talk to other side. New poll suggests that conservatives like Kim Jong more than Nancy Pelosi. So they'd rather like someone whose put kids and the elderly into work camps and ordered the execution of several people for watching South Korean dramas than have a decent conversation with someone whose on the "other" side.

@Graylight There are problems in other countries too though. New Zealand is also very free market and anti immigration. So is my native UK.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Burnley123 It originally came from The Daily Beast, which I think they were trying to make fun of Pelosi (probably their readers too) but it backfired in my opinion because it doesn't really display much except spite.

I laugh when they bring up the constitution just for that reason alone, we all know when it came down to it, they'd yank those rights away from liberals if they could. Hell, their always doing that to things like gay marriage. They don't really believe in the constitution, so aligning themselves with fascists makes sense.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Burnley123 Yes, unfortunately there simply it is no Utopia. We all have to work it out amongst ourselves.
chrisCA · M
Your asking a little too much of some people here. 😏
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@chrisCA I never block people for disagreeing but a few people are spamming full the politics section with inane trolling posts which have kindergarden level taunting. It's pointless and boring.
chrisCA · M
@Burnley123 I don't block anyone either.
The name calling is pretty juvenile.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
One of the biggest impediments I've found is that the language is diverging and we're unable to agree on basic terms. Pretty simple terms like racism, socialism, and privilege are completely redefined according to your political bent.

It may be worth trying to discuss without using what are basically politicized buzzwords now because they're emotional hair-triggers that just lead nowhere useful.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Burnley123 Right. It goes hand in hand with the notion that corporations are not entities with political interests and need to be left alone to just let the system work.

Which is weird when you think about it considering Trump ran on the idea that he was not beholden to corporate interests.

Excellent sentiment Burnsie. What’s on your discussion list? I’ve already have a nice discussion with so folks regarding the queen, the corgis, Prince Charles and his horse faced wife, etc. personally I think Harry is the queen’s favorite and she finds great humor in his shenanigans and likes the new Mrs Harry.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson I don't really care about the monarchy. I'm against it as an institution but other things are more important.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M

Bravo, Burnley. Even a long journey begins with a single step.

I tried...I got called a libtard and was blocked.
picture says a thousand words... how is this not relevant to your sub par Q?..
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Thank you for the non meme response. I was talking about questions on SW. You are mentioning a straw man argument used by the American right against college students.
SmartKat · 56-60, F
@Burnley123 Actually, the behaviors listed in the meme are often shown by *45 and his supporters. Pot, meet kettle.
twistermind · 51-55, F
There’s been a long time since I don’t wanna know about Politics and the main reason is the very fact you mentioned. I don’t think is possible to talk about politics or politicians without being sticked to a flag or another.
I’m lately thinking that world is working more or less in spite of our current politicians. They like so much to wake fear and the worse in their citizens.
SmartKat · 56-60, F
Sadly, civil disagreement seems to be a thing of the past.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Doesn’t have to be. @SmartKat

@WindOfAdolf A whole big chunk of politics is debating what laws should be changed.

@Originalkingfish I still prefer to hold on - tooth and nail sometimes - to optimism.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Agreed. People are more than capable of it and it often occurs here on SW. @Graylight
reflectingmonkey · 51-55, M
interesting statement considering that your title is " I hate goddam liberals", really sounds like an open minded person wanting to debate ideas.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@reflectingmonkey It was sarcasm aimed to parody others. Look at the other posts in the politics section and you'll get it.
