Thank you for our morning laugh. The "Ping-Pong and Dong-Dong Summit" gave us what? There is no start dating for disarming. No end date for being done. No inspectors were named or even agreed to in principle to see what N. Korea has now. No inspections or inspectors agreed too to see the progress. in other words Caption Stupid negotiated nothing for us whatsoever. What he did do is agree to give N. Korea everything they asked for--a complete halt to military preparedness on the Korean Peninsula---even though technically S. Korea and N. Korea are still in a state of war. The U.S. was maneuvered into paying the full bill for the summit----so we could meet with Un---a coup for him politically. To the world of terrorists we were sooooo afraid of him-----we wanted to meet with him SO BADLY we were even willing to foot the bill just to sit down with him. That gives him HUGE propaganda standing and leverage in the terrorist community. In all they got everything they could ever hope for--and in return we got nothing. Now that's bargaining power from the "Great Negotiator", huh? Nobel Prize my butt. For what? Making an ass out of America and not even a clue anything Un said will happen--while we're giving him his entire wish list??
@jackson55 Why do you think Trump couldn’t be bothered telling South Korea’s president—until after the fact—that he planned to pull troops out ? And what did he gain definitively from Kim ?
jackson55 · M
[@ It's mostly the evening opinion no matter what news source you watch.
@jackson55 When EVERY news source says the same thing---including FAUX---that kinda kills the every media source is fake news except FAUX---don't it??
Well, considering how petty and jealous Trump and his supporters are, he will demand they give it to him, just because it was awarded Obama, wait why does it matter ? Because you folks are such racist pieces of crap you’re even willing to let Trump take away healthcare from your own children. Just because it was Obama’s plan, I guess. 🙄
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@bijouxbroussard I CERTAINLY don't think that he deserves a Nobel Prize! 🤢
WalksWith · 56-60, F
@luckranger71 But mostly though...it 'pisses liberals off' that is the main reason that they do not care what happens on the world stage or in their own backyard, they love how Agolf Twittler pisses off liberals.
@WalksWith And it pisses off liberals who actually care about the country. Would that Trumpsters could say as much.
NickiHijab · F
“Nobel peace prize” it’s so peaceful for the putative anti-war candidate to launch extensive airstrikes in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, and Libya.

Twice as many as Bush in case anyone wasn’t counting.

As for trump.. no one outside the US takes him seriously, besides the select few.
NickiHijab · F
@TexChik “Libtard” ew. I’m already done with this conversation.
TexChik · F
@NickiHijab awesome ! 😁
@NickiHijab 🤣🤣
While appreciating what Mr. Trump has done with regards to N. Korea based on policy, do you think that the Nobel Prize joury will forget how kindly Mr. Trump referred to some of the African countries as shithole??

I just remembered..
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@Johnson212 You must be proud that you are not from one of those shithole-countries! 👍
Johnson212 · 61-69, M
@Loretta78 Yes I am I can't imagine living in a county so devoid of morality, freedoms and so full of corruption.

When I first heard Trump say that my first thought, was OMG I can't believe he said that. But after thinking about it a while I thought, you know despite the coarseness of what he said he does have a point. Take Zimbabwe for example, look what the Europeans who migrated there did, they established a relatively balanced economy, transforming what was once a primary producer dependent on backwoods farming into an industrial food giant and spawned a strong manufacturing sector, iron and steel industries, and modern mining ventures. And they did it without foreign aid.

But look what happened when political control of the country was turned over to majority rule, the country which was once considered the breadbasket of Africa became a net importer of foodstuffs, with the European Union and United States providing emergency food relief as humanitarian aid on a regular basis so they would not starve to death. The nation has suffered profound economic and social decline for the past twenty years.

I don't bring this up to talk about what is fair, who should rule the country but to point out the level of success of the African peoples. They have a very dismal record and a most horrible record on human rights. So I have to ask myself, do I really want to bring these people to my county when I look at what they allow theirs to become. Why would I want to bring people here from a shithole country when there are successful peoples who want to come here.
Johnson212 · 61-69, M
@Soossie I understand, people like to talk about issues as long as the facts are inline with their beliefs of what is right, but when inconvenient facts surface they turn away because it causes cognitive dissonance.
fazer1k · 56-60, M
Obama was extremely popular around the world; Trump is the opposite. Trump has had the effect of stirring alt-right uprisings just about everywhere. He deserves a 'Buffoon' award for that, not an award for peace.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
So, you want trump to get the Nobel Peace Prize for no reason simply because you believe Obama got it for no reason? 🌀

Little League Player's Father # 1: "I'm so proud of my boy. He got the trophy for best hitter."

Little League Player's Father # 2: "Yeah, but he wasn't the best hitter. He didn't even show up to all the games."

Little League Player's Mother: "Well, my son deserves a trophy too. Damn it!"

Little League Player's Father # 1: "What did your sons do?"

Little League Player's Mother: "Well, you're son got a trophy, so my son should get one too. Damn it!"

Little League Player's Father # 2: "If one gets a trophy everyone should get one."

Little League Player's Father # 1: "Well, I'm proud of my son!"
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
@MarkPaul no it is not my post but I will point out that the OP said "if the N Korean thing works out" so we are talking about giving it to someone who a lot of people may not like but who actually accomplished something vs giving it to someone a lot of people liked who did not accomplish anything but was projected to. It makes a joke out of the whole thing.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Subsumedpat Well, "if it works out" then yes, he would have accomplished something. But, you can stick that label on anything and everything. If international cooperation works out in the long term, then Obama's prize will mean something because he would have accomplished something. If trump's photo op, works out, he will have accomplished something. If the world ends through our carelessness, will we feel we have accomplished something?
@MarkPaul That’s what pisses me off, is the pettiness about it—especially since the peace accords Obama did affect (Cuba, Iran)were actively dismantled by Trump out of spite. How does that contribute to world peace ?
Ramon67 · 61-69, M
He should .
@Ramon67 Tell what the Rump accomplished for America at the Ping-Pong and Ding-Dong Summit? PLEASE tell us the whole list of what we came away with-----courtesy of Mr. Fabulous Negotiator?
katielass · F
@Ramon67 Yeah, he's already accomplished more than previous presidents with NK. That our satellites show he has already dismantled part of his nuclear program is promising. Of course we must proceed with caution, something Mr. Trump understands. Previous presidents were just kicking the can down the road.
I don't think any seated political leader should receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Obama, Trump, any of them.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@CopperCicada Probably a very sound policy.
I feel like the more he screws around in foreign policy the more danger he puts our country in
@akindheart I haven't seen him signing off on anything. Not anything and that would have been big news.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Mondayschild i watched it. i saw them both sign the documents.
@akindheart hood for you and I hope you don't find out your trust has seriously misplaced. Have a nice day.
Northwest · M
Trump scored a big, and well documented win. The N. Korean TV lady, stopped calling him the Big Satan.

Hint: what about Obama, about'ism, does not mean anything. How about an actual Trump achievement.
SW-User
Trump has already mocked up a Time Magazine cover showing him as the winner. So it must be true.
@SW-User That’s what I don’t understand. How do these people give Trump a pass for campaigning for a Nobel Prize for himself ? I don’t care what anyone says, Obama didn’t campaign or lobby for any kind of prize or accolades. He would never have heard the end of it. What kind of people accept it from Trump ? 😳
Graylight · 51-55, F
Obama was awarded the prize based on what was projected to happen. That was a mistake, but it was a mistake on Norway's part, not the president's.

If Trump is similarly awarded the prize, it will be for the same reasons. There has been no tangible outcome from an hour-long meeting held in private with a dictator. It's all pure conjecture at the moment.
AbbeyRhode · F
He should, but doubtful it will happen.
Ya know, I can even sort of see where Obama got a lot of credit for not being Bush sometimes, but Trump, for better or worse, is making a much bigger splash on the world scene, and ought to be judged own his own merit (or lack thereof, but my point is still the same).

I guess we'll see how the Swedes feel about the US picking fights with its allies and cosying up to authoritarian regimes like North Korea and Russia, but somehow.. Sweden, Russia, I just don't see it happening that quickly.

Then again, I'm an ignorant American.

@MistyCee Rump is giving---one thing at a time---to both N. Korea and to Russia that they both crave. For N. Korea it's recognition that they are equal world powers--BECAUSE they are nuclear--or capable. It shows we fear them. We are willing to give n. Korea ANYTHING they want---because they have a nuke. What message does that send to any terrorist group who can get their hands on a nuke? In the Ping-Pong and Ding-Dong summit we gave n. Korea EVERYTHING they wanted on their wish list and we got what?? Nothing. N. Korea just showed terrorist everywhere they are stronger than we are. For Russia--their goal is to replace the U.S. as the leading world power. By playing Rump with business deals and compliments to soothe his ego Rump has been more favorable and glowing in how he talks about Putin and now Un than he does all of our allies. That is moving us to an isolated position in the world--standing alone. That means we have less power than we did with allies backing us and that opens the door for Russia to take the spot we now (used to) occupy on the global platform....for trade..for alliances...for power. Rump is giving America away--with one foolish act after another. There are now 71 republicans not running for re-election in the congress. Up until now they ALL had misplaced their spines. None of them did anything but smile as Rump was sinking our ship. Now--with nothing to lose--most all of them have said what should have been said long ago--if they had the balls to do it----Rump is not doing America any good. If we don't impeach this fool after the midterms.....imagine what's next?
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
This "summit" was so brief, and there are so few details. I can't help but think that there were no actual agreements made at all. Just one big PR bash.
No seated head of state should get the Nobel peace prize.

I almost think no former head of state either.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@CopperCicada but they have and for no good reason. except Carter. i think he won one.
Johnson212 · 61-69, M
@CopperCicada I could go with that, like you don't name a ship after a currently serving admiral.

I think the human rights have to be changed over there before there can even be talks of the Nobel prize.
lorne13 · 61-69, M
hilarious, thanks for the joke
Grator · 31-35, F
Lol
katielass · F
I doubt it but who cares. This was an excellent first step and it looks promising. Time will tell. I just hope the dumbocrats don't create problems with their asinine comments. It's obvious they'd rather live under a threat than see Mr. Trump succeed. And weren't they blathering about a nuclear war just months ago?
SW-User
No he won’t because it’s not peace it’s just a deal between gangsters. Obama got his and continued and expanded Bush’s wars. He must have got it because they liked him...
@SW-User Iraq ? No...
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard He did wind down Iraq, but expanded in Afghanistan and Syria. Same war, different locations.
SW-User
Moon Jae should get it, he's the man! Trumps an arse hole, representing an arse hole country full of arse holes!
Graylight · 51-55, F
@SW-User So it was you I met on your tour of meeting 350 million US citizens?
SW-User
@Graylight 350 million? I was under the impression the immigrants killed most of the real citizens and There's only about 5 million left? The rest are illegals? Lol
Graylight · 51-55, F
@SW-User Shh, we libtards don't want the secrets getting out.

@HerKing Have you noticed that even democrats are running on how often they vote with Trump in their campaigns? Now that's a stick up your ass that's gotta hurt.
katielass · F
@HerKing Oh no darling, I have supported blacks. In fact I think it would be rater nice to have a black president. I just want one who's American and has America's interests in mind not some affirmative action pos tard. You can't paint everyone who didn't like bozo as a racist dear, it's just not believable. At some point you will, hopefully, learn that you must find an argument that has merit if you're going to be effective.
HerKing · 61-69, M
@katielass Obama is American...You know how the 'birther' shit was led by Trump "I have a private detective in Hawaii and he can't believe what he's seeing (repeat twice more)"...Oddly he rescinded that when he took office and said he knew Obama was American..

As for merit and argument..You believe a cunt who lies at least five times a day, has no affection or investment for anyone but himself and sucks up to and admires despots. Says far more about you than me.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
I don't know about all this but I do wonder, only like 4 past presidents got the award so Obama must have really done something big to get it but I have to admit I have no clue what it was.
@Subsumedpat You would have to ask those awarding it, wouldn’t you ? But even if Obama shouldn’t have received it (arguably) that’s a long way from saying Trump deserves one.

And btw, Ronald Reagan was knighted (GHB). Iran Contra and all.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard The OP did qualify it with "if it works out with N Korea" seems if he is actually successful at actually getting it done he should get one since someone else got one for basically good intentions but no results.
@Subsumedpat You mean because “John” got one “Jimmy” should, like the Nobel Prize is a cookie ? Childishness. Did Nixon win one for China even though the rest of his presidency went down in flames ? He was nominated, but...🤔
akindheart · 61-69, F
I think Trump deserves it. more so than odumbo
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
Did you say Ignoble?
