Tory Government

So I believe we have the worst ever uk government so out of all of the ministers who would you sack, not let them resgine like TM does. Full on sackings so they take the blame for their failings.
room101 · 51-55, M
What bugs me about this post is that, here's an opportunity to talk about UK politics, instead of the usual trump tripe (hey, I like that phrase - trump tripe - it has a ring to it) that usually swamps this site, and I've got very little to add.

As others have said, Corbyn is too left-wing. As is the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, John McDonnell. And, don't even get me started on the walking, talking disaster zone that is Diane Abbott.

Then there's the Tories that have already been listed and mentioned. Again, nothing much that I can add.

Apart from one little thing. I do feel for Theresa May at times. Like Corbyn, she has no clue on how to deal with the media in a positive way. But, unlike Corbyn, she inherited an impossible situation after David Cameron resigned.

Cameron gave the British public the opportunity to decide whether we wanted to stay in the EU or not. When that choice was made, he bottled it. I believe that, had he stayed on, much of the crap that is plaguing British politics today, just wouldn't exist.
room101 · 51-55, M
@Burnley123 Cameron's position was difficult to be sure, but not untenable......in my view. He had gone to the EU and asked for reforms. His requests were refused. He then put it to the British public. They opted for Brexit. He then could have gone back to Brussels and said,

"This is what your refusals have caused. Now let's work together to sort this mess out. For the benefit of both the UK and the EU alike."

His resignation shut down any opportunity for mutually beneficial dialogue.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@room101 Well lets not feel sorry for May she put herself forward for the job, she wanted to be PM, she wanted to be better than Thatcher, she is probbaly even worse than Brown as PM.

I agree with all you said and also the part about DC he should have stayed on to sort the tory party and the tory party policies as he would have been stronger
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@fazer1k Well put for me the tories have always looked after the elite ans sold off everything to thier friends but with TM she trying to be everyone's friend in her party rather than saying as she wants to be a bloody difficult woman. She needs to stop putting her job ,party first and start looking at putting the country first because sooner or later there will be a GE and things need to start being sorted and all of this from leavers threatening to resign, she should just say ok i accept your resignation and put someone else in place.
briggsie25 · 61-69, M
Jeremy Hunt, best rhyming slang ever, arrogant pig who has ruined the NHS
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@briggsie25 yes a very apt name

for me Chris Gayling as hes managed to fuck up the prisons and the transport system.
Brenda · 61-69, F
Gove, Johnson, Grayling and not sure if he has a post now but Duncan-Smith, Duncan-smith Caused the chaos in DWP, Grayling has never had a Job where he did anything right, Johnson and Gove are a pair of sniveling Back Stabbing Weasels thats just my starter
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Brenda Yes for me Grayling as hes fucked up a few departments and still thinks hes doing a good job. THen as you say Gove, Johnson and also May, Hunt and Fox.
Brenda · 61-69, F
@milkymum1 I forgot about Hunt another chaos merchant, Fox should be called Droopy (the sad dog cartoon) TM I think was the best choice of the idiots running for Camerons job at the time I think I need to go get a Coffee and chill haha
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Brenda yes Hunt with the apt name when it all goes wrong. Ha ha thats so funny Fox as Droopy dog, I never noticed it until you said it.

yes she was but has turned out to be the worst.
thatscottishguy · 26-30, M
Unfortunately I don't see the Tories losing power anytime soon.
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@thatscottishguy

Actually I believe a New Labour government would be far more likely to win than Corbyn's Old Labour style government. Let's not forget that Tony Blair won elections with landslide victories so his style of government clearly appealed to the electorate.

@Burnley123

Corbin did come close to winning the last election but I suspect that was largely due to a backlash from the brexit vote and people believed he would support their wish to stay in Europe.

Your point regarding a centre-right bias now being considered central is interesting. I agree totally where economic aspects are concerned but actually feel that what is considered central from a social policy point of view is actually centre-left - although brexit does now call that into question for me.

I haven't checked the link you provided yet but will do tomorrow. Thanks for that.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@fazer1k I think Brexit polarisation had some impact but also that Corbyn has popular policies. That manifesto wouldn't have happened under a different leader imo.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@thatscottishguy well they did buy the power and doen the deal with the devil!!
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
I hope we get a Labour government next time. I'm a party member.
Brenda · 61-69, F
@Burnley123 The real Labour Party yes not this bunch of Non entities, Britain is in a state now God alone Knows what Corbyn and McDonnell will do Oh yes I do invite every low life scum to come and ruin the country some more,
Corbyn trying to pass of as a man of the people Brought up in by wealthy Parents in a Manor house for gods sake never done a days work in his life but thats all hidden from view
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Burnley123 I've never voted Labour but there last anifesto was for the people not like the Tories for the rich.

@Brenda TBH the way the Tories are doing give JC ago
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@milkymum1 Agreed. Out of interest, would you consider voting Labour next time?
fazer1k · 56-60, M
I had a lot more confidence in David Cameron than I do in Teresa May so I would start there.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@fazer1k Yes at least DC could have a conversation and argument on his poliices and also had a vision,
Quizzical · 46-50, M
The ministers are merely the figureheads for the civil service departments.

Check out an old comedy called Yes Minister to see how it actually works 😁
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Quizzical They might be figure heads but they want all the glory when it goes right so they should take the crap when it goes wrong,
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
Get rid of may and all them who are negotiating Brexit, there gutless and need to get a spine , and get jacob Rees mogg in ,
Brenda · 61-69, F
@Nyloncapes rid of him as well and get some real people who's lives are going to be affected, Millionaires will not be in the same position as the rest of us, Remember the "We are in this together" we paid while Cameron had his £37 million in the Bank
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Nyloncapes Mogg is even worse than Johnson, Davis, May and even Fox. what we need is real people from the real world not people who are millionaires, tax dodgers who have no idea of real life. put them all on minimum wage or zero hour contracts and see how soon they cant last.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
A notification took me back to this post.

The old adage that things are so bad they can't get worse has fallen down in recent months.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Burnley123 Yes we certiannly thought Gordon brown was bad then thersea May suppassed that now with Boris its like how can you make them both look so good!!!
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
Be glad we don't have Corbyn
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@TheWildEcho The last Labour manifesto was full costed. Tax cuts to the rich and reaping what you sow in investment is a better way than privileges for the rich and austerity, in my view.
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Burnley123 well I don't trust him,or his costings he'd take the country back to how it was in the 70s,and believe me that was bad! Labour should have voted Andy Burnham as leader
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@TheWildEcho Burham would have offered a more watered down version of what the Tories did in my view. I also think the 70s problems were down to the OPEC oil crash. I trust Jeremy because I see him as more authentic than other politicians. I don't think we will agree on this but I wish you well and respect your views.
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
It's not good but at least we don't have Trump to put up with
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Dlrannie No but we have mini trumps in Jhonson, Gove, Fox, May
Brenda · 61-69, F
@milkymum1 @Dlrannie God forbid Johnson getting the PM's job he is a fucking Embarassment who the hell voted for him beats me
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Brenda He shouldnt even be a minister.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Start at the top and work down ?
There are so many restrictions on so many departments it's impossible to imagine anyone else doing a better job of it.
Wouldn't be so bad if you could see improvements anywhere.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Picklebobble2 if they lived as we do they would soon change things.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@milkymum1 what i hate is the dishonesty about it all.
Poor management of the economy over a long time and anytime there's a Conservative government, they see every benefit claimant, every elderly person; every service user, every single parent as the first people to hit when it comes to cutbacks for their mismanagement of the economy.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Picklebobble2 yes that is so true, the tories say they can do this and do that but until they live like us (remember IDS) they have no idea what its like

yes they hit the poorest the disabled the people who really need the state help, like free school meals, etc etc
