fazer1k 'Conventional wisdom' says that Corbyn is too far to the left to the win and the media parrot that all of the time. In spite of that, Corbyn came within a whisker of outright winning the last election.
The liberals have a lot of catching up to do. In fact, they have been static on about 7% since the coalition days. With Cable in charge, they would as likely form a coalition with the Tories as Labour anyway.
For me, it's about policy. What the media define as being the centre ground has a centre-right bias in comparison with an actual public opinion. Miliband was seen as left wing but had policies to the right of the public on an issue by issue basis. It's a question of framing.
A lot of Corbyn's policies are popular with the public, in spite of the British establishment's efforts to de-legitimise him.
