The governor of California has created a permanent law rationing indoor water use for all residents to 55 gallons a day.

By 2030 that amount will drop to 50 gallons a day for indoor use. That amount is per person in the household per day.

Mothers are wondering how they will do laundry. Could you live with only using 55 gallons of water a day, including dishwashing, laundry, showers, bathing pets, and so on?

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Nope. Q. What did the giraffe say when it walked into a bar? A. The highballs are on me.
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Cape town has been counting down to "day zero," when the water supply would be exhausted and shut off. They've already issued severe rationing limits and stuff. But then... the "day zero" countdown disappeared. Why? It was hurting tourism. There weren't enough extra people exhausting their critically low water supply.

@wetncthru They will probably monitor water meters. They plan to fine abusers up to $1000.00, and they plan to tax $12.00 a year per person for water, and business water fines and taxes will be a lot higher.

@4meAndyou Ah, tax ... that magic voter soothing word.
