@Montanaman I’ll try to keep the faith. Just good to know there are still men like you out there. 🤗
And do check out the film. Think you’ll like it. I’d link you but I can’t do a stinkin thing on this phone.

It was in 2004, when I was 19.
I was planning on voting for Dick Gephardt. But he dropped out before our state's primary.
So I voted for John Edwards.
He lost the nomination.
So, in the general I voted for John Kerry.
On reflection, about a decade later, if I had my general election vote to do over again, I'd have voted for George W. Bush. Not so much for Bush's record but because Kerry was disingenuous about his own and because he turned out to be the dove his Senate record really shows he was, not the hawk he tried to pretend he was.
But my first choice for president in 2004 is still now who it was then: Dick Gephardt. He was pro-defense, pro-union and pro-FAIR trade.

By the way, I voted against Obama twice that same year. Daniel Hynes in Senate primary and for Mark Kuhnke in the general. Five times in all; in the 2008 primary and the 2008 and 2012 general. (we had no presidential primary in 2012 or it might have been six times. As a person, I like Obama and think he's a good role model. I just don't like a lot of his policies or how he 'politics'.) 😄

i can't honestly remember. but i have always voted republican except i had a moment of temporary insanity and voted for Al Gore. i quickly recovered my wits
beckyromero · 36-40, FVIP
@akindheart
If you voted as early as you could have, your age group indicates it was either Nixon or Ford. Probably Nixon. That's why you "can't remember." 😄

@beckyromero nope. i would have voted for Reagan. he was president while i was in college.
katielass · F
I had to vote for Gerald ford, because even at a young age, I knew better than to vote for jimmy carter. And I was right.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
Like Bijoux, I voted for Ted Kennedy in the primary and for Jimmy Carter in the general election. 1980.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
Tony Blair, though I much prefer Corbyn.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
My first vote went to Kerry.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
President Reagan. I think
abe182 · 51-55, M
Ross Perot
katielass · F
@abe182 lol I did as well. I wrote someone in, the only time I've done that, in 92 because I knew I didn't want old man bush and I knew too much about clinton (my sister worked at the capital in Little Rock back then). So, I helped elect that creep as well. Looking back, old man Bush would not have done as much damage as clinton did. But hindsight is often 20/20.
Livingwell · 61-69, M
Regan then Kennedy
bijouxbroussard · F
@Livingwell But Ted Kennedy only ran in the primary of 1980. He didn't run again.
Livingwell · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard Ahhhh. My first answer was who were my preferred first votes. I was referencing John Kennedy. My first actual vote was Regan.

SW-User
@Livingwell regan was an asshole.

A rock.

I voted for George Bush Sr.
I got the shit beat out of me on the walk home from the precinct for voting for the commies.
The presumption was that a guy in a flannel shirt with T-shit, jeans and hair down his back couldn't have voted for Bush Sr. and I had to have voted for the socialist (Kenoyer).
Taught me pretty much everything I needed to know about American politics.
