I just heard Oprah is considering a run for President.

Talk about your anti-Trumps.. Be afraid Republicans.. Be VERY afraid. I wonder if she will get Dwayne Johnson to run for VP?
You get a car! And you get a car! Everybody gets a car!!!!

Even Trump himself said she would be great. That was back in the 90’s when he was a Democrat. However, the words didn’t come out of her mouth. People were just saying “Oprah 2020”. But I doubt she’d run.

@IstillmissEP 🤷

We can no longer say, 'It won't happen', because it can, and will. Someday.
as if oprah is going to spend a billion dollars to maybe win maybe lose. and all the rumours about her over the years coming to the surface by scum bag journos.. she'd buckle in a week.

You mean you'd hope she buckles in a week.

Between Oprah and Trump, I'd consider voting for Oprah. I think many others will too. There's a lot of registered voters that didn't actually vote in the last election but I think they won't make that mistake again.

@SatanBurger That's true. It's become a popularity contest, not one of experiences. We are just not looking forward to a socialist government here.

A very competitive ticket

@jackjjackson Love ya, man, I had the same thought.

i doubt she's run as she would have to give up so much of what she has worked for a celebration of the women in the @meto women and the men who listened to them. while that is political in a sense it is much more motivational.

@nudistsueaz Obama was from Hawaii. Oprah from Mississippi and raised in Milwaukee. Assume much?
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@SW-User lol....doesn't matter where they were born. What matters is where they learned their politics and developed their value's.

@nudistsueaz Erm. So Midwest values are inferior to where you are from?

Thin ice.

One from Chicago is enough, don't you think?
She may as well

I believe that Oprah will not run for President, because she is much greater than that low-life association with the likes of Donald Trump and that whole Washington mafia.

What Oprah will do I believe, is financially support whom SHE feels would be the very best female President for the United States when the time comes to eject Trump in 2020.

Impeachment is a very loosely used term these days, yet is a process that is more difficult to initiate than becoming President in the first place. First of all let me state clearly, that I am not a supporter of Trump. It is not the Republican Party that I don't like, it is Trump whom I don't like. I would have the same sentiments toward Trump even if he were a card-carrying Democrat.

The sense I get from most non-supporters of Trump is that they just want him out of there, the process of achieving this end being quite irrelevant. The problem with a formal Impeachment, is that something of substance must exist for Trump to be Impeached. So far, we have speculation, not substance. But then again, only Mueller knows for sure, not CNN.

Impeachment however, is not good for the country as viewed by the rest of the world. Impeachment of a US President makes the whole country look weak and corrupt, somewhat like the untimely ousting of a Third World mafia-style Dictatorship. Impeachment would once again, make America look 'cheap' in the eyes of America's primary trading partners as well as America's creditors. There are way too many people still alive today who still remember Nixon, the Impeached albeit seated President during the final years of the Vietnam War. Impeachment has become a word therefore, that is synonymous with 'corrupt', not incompetent. Nixon was corrupt, whereas Trump is incompetent, primarily mentally incompetent from a clinical perspective.

What I believe will happen with Trump and his Administration, is that Donald Trump will be removed from Office very quietly as a result of medical issues, which will then enable him to save some family face while essentially disappearing from our reality TV news rooms. Mike Pence will take over in the interim, but Trump's Republican Administration will continue until 2020 under the custodianship of Mike Pence, as he acts somewhat like Trump's Power of Attorney for personal care. There will not be a Presidential election prior to 2020 as a result of Trump's medical decline in mental health. In 2020, we just start over.

Changing the subject here, the reason Oprah will support a female, is because Oprah is the voice of women, not men. In terms of supporting women, Oprah tends to support Black women before she supports White women. This is because Oprah is a very strong advocator of Black women in America who have not had the same opportunities as White women in America. Oprah wants to fix that perceived disparity, which is why Oprah will support Black women first, White women second, Black men third and White men last.

Keep in mind that Oprah sees herself as a surviving byproduct of the Slave Trade in America, even though she wasn't technically there at the time. She likes to pretend that she was from time to time and for that reason, old White men will no longer prevail in our political climate nor will old White men control women nor the Rights of women under Oprah's watch.

Oprah however, will not run for President. That is not her 'calling' in this lifetime. Oprah will therefore support the best candidate for the Presidency, as long as that candidate is a female first, followed by Black male, followed by White male if it even gets that far down the priority list before a suitable candidate is found. Support means 'money', therefore Oprah calls the tune.

@swirlie Sorry if I'm wrong, but I thought you were always calling for his impeachment.
Do we really want a president that will further divide us on racial lines? If you fix the economy, create more jobs, good trade deals, destroying our enemies, ect aren't you helping all races, everyone?
swirlie · 31-35, F
@GunSmoke9

No, you are not wrong! I have been calling loudly for, or at least supporting the Impeachment of Trump since the day of his Inauguration.

But I too have used the term Impeachment to broad-brush the issue of Trumpism away, when in truth, Impeachment is easier said than done. Quite frankly, I don't need a parade with lots of clowns and balloons the day that Trump disappears from my conscious awareness. What I would really like, is for Trump to walk into the office some day soon and hand himself his resignation in the mirror. I would like him to simply step down, clean out his desk and go home quietly (without the gold watch).

As I said in my previous post, Impeachment is a very loosely used term these days, a term that seems to mean 'get out and don't come back' to most people, myself included. Over the past 11 months I have come to realize that Impeachment is but one singular option to make someone just go away, but I have also realized that the Impeachment process is a method that requires some pretty dedicated professionals to make it all happen correctly.

The problem with Impeachment, is that it's a one-shot-deal. If the Lawyers screw it up the first time, then it's pretty hard to circle around and make another pass at the same idea. Therefore, pursuing something other than Impeachment to remove Trump from Office I think would be more realistic, offering more of a guarantee of solid results than what Impeachment might bring if it were hinged on Obstruction of Justice. Mental health issues come to mind, meaning Trump's questionable ability to comprehend his job or his seemingly unstable mental state which may prevent him from being fully cognizant with the country's state of national security.

I still want to see Trump go back home to NYC after dropping off the keys to the executive washroom, yet I need to perhaps be more clear on that.

As for your last statement, "If you fix the economy, create more jobs, good trade deals, destroying our enemies, etc aren't you helping all races, everyone?".

I full agree with you that we would be helping all races, including everyone everywhere in the process. We need to find someone who has a dedication to do what you mentioned and who will also take on the Presidency in 2020 without embarrassing the country in the process. Oprah Winfrey however, is not the answer. She too is not a politician nor a dedicated servant to the country.
