Socialism does not work wherever you try it
In Israel the Kibutz movement they are like collectives traditionally were big farms although now some have given up on agricu.ture and are now making their money through industrialisation.
The people who lived on them were members they all had an equal say on the running of things, everybody worked for the same money no matter what their job etc.
The first generation which were around in Israels early years the kibbutz got its funding from the state. non of the members got paid a penny and they did not even own anything and everything from food to clothing was provided by the kibbutz.
Children even were considered to be property of the kibbutz and they were not raised by their family they lived in a kids area and they saw their parents at weekends
Next generation the kibbutz still got its funding from the state although families lived together now and people got paid a token salary because they were jealous of people in the real world earning money to buy nice things and they had nothing of their own.
Although they started getting a token salary everybody was equal nobody earned more than anybody else does not matter if they were working in a field or in a professional job same money.
Then the government stopped funding the kibbutz so they then had to become businesses and earn their own money to survive.
Anyway now though although all the members have a say on the running of things they today all earn a decent wage and that wage is equivalent to the job they do so no longer would somebody working in a field get paid the same as a skilled professional
Even these socialist havens in the end had to resort to capitalism to survive and I think they got fairer because was it right that taxpayers funded them and was it right that somebody with a university degree doing a specialist job get the same money as somebody unskilled who worked in the field.
Capitalism has lots of problems and is not perfect but in general it has created a fairer society because it has given people the opportunity to improve their lives.

@EatingCereal...Darling, it is YOU who doesn't understand how capitalism works. It was working just fine, lifting millions out of poverty into middle class.....until socialism started creeping in. Socialism is the problem, not capitalism. Capitalism is what made this country great, allowed for the invention of so many things that have helped mankind, allowed so many to realize their dreams. Socialism eliminates initiative.

Sanders did not really say how he planned to pay for all these wonderful things same way Trump does not say how he is going to stop Muslims coming to the US.
I do not trust Hillary in the slightest but Sanders he promises dreams like free education etc.
Where would the money come from and how will his way of raising the money affect other people.
Would people be willing to pay extra taxes etc
Should the US increase its national debt to borrow to fund
The candidate you should trust is the one that can say how things will be done not just what they plan to do
Good thing is because of their ages I doubt either Hillary or Trump will be two term presidents I do not think either will want to be standing for another 4 year term when they are in their mid 70s which they will both be in 2020

Did you know that less than 1% of the U.S. is multibillionares and that they own 56% of the wealth in the entire United States. The worst part is, people don't believe Federal Social Security income records. Currently, the average tax the rich pay, collectively is 8%, while the Middle and poor class oay 24% on average, and they only amount to 44% of the wealth. This is why capitalism is sucking YOU dry, too, unless you're rich. If thee rich paid 24% tax, this country would literally get nearly double tax pay.
If you cannot understand why or how this came to be, don't discuss outcomes that you can change by voting. Especially if you are going to vote for somebody who wants to cheat you and me out of our money.

@jackson, I don't think you're aware of how capitalism works. If it isnt stopped, the rich subsidize themselves with plenty of benefits and loopholes to keep their wealth returning to them, while you work and pay off 30% of your income to taxes.

A great example is how Donald Trump, a multi-billionare paid $0 in tax in the early 1990's, for two years in a row. The rest percentages were slightly higher than 0%. Tell me if you can do that to keep your money, while Trump saves hundreds of millions >.>

EatingCereal, I well aware of how capitalism works. That top 10% that all liberals love to hate, pays 70% of the taxes so you can enjoy what the US has to offer. It's not BS, look it up for yourself on the IRS website.
