Are there too many posts about Trump?

Obviously he can't be ignored completely because he is the actual President of the actual United States and IMO he is abysmal for multiple reasons. Really though?

He wants the oxygen of the publicity and he is a troll. He uses the dead cat strategy to distract from more damaging and more fundamental issues and people take the bait.

He also wants people to get angry. Liberals are 'triggered' into a response and his base love that.

I get that it's tricky sometimes because you don't want to ignore attacked on transgender people in the military etc but people need to be aware of the strategy. This is a self reinforcing feedback loop and Trump is not an idiot (in this sense).

There are other and more fundamental political issues in the world anyway. Also there are plenty of issues which relate to Trump where he is merely a symptom of deeper problems rather than the cause. Also, it's boring.

Despite his claims to the contrary, Trump thrives on positive tweets, or anything that feeds his ego. This is who he is.

Look at how easily he gets triggered. The father of one of the UCLA basketball players did not blow him, for having asked Xi to free them, so he dedicated some tweets to attack him today. If the world, indeed is at the brink of nuclear war with N. Korea and the US is not great again, wouldn't you think this is what he would be tweeting about?

I think we need to continue exposing his bullshit, and calling him on it. I'm not saying that we should go the TexChick, etc. route, and start calling names. Just stick to the facts, and expose the lies.

There are a lot of lurkers on SW, and anywhere else we participate, who are in the fence, and may appreciate someone else doing the research.

But yes, I hear what you're saying. There's no exact science to this thing.

@Northwest Good points.

@Burnley123 To follow up on this, Trump just reversed his administration's decision on big game import, following negative social media feedback across all demographics/voting groups. He's also eating up (and re-tweeting) comments from celebs thanking him for his decision to put this on hold.

I’d like to see more people just ignore Trump and what he wants, and go around him, and do the right thing whether he likes it or not.

For example, he pulled the U.S. out of the Paris climate agreement. So, some states and cities in the U.S. have pledged to remain with its guidelines, anyway.

If we reacted that way to all his nonsensical ideas, we could metaphorically stick our fingers in our ears and chant, “La la la, I can’t hear you!”

@MethDozer Such a huge generalisation. Often true but not always.

Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn are different imo.
MethDozer · M
@Burnley123 The whole elction should have come down to Rand Paul, Bernie Sanders, and Gary Johnson if the public had a clue IMHO.
Not saying I agree 100% with any one of them but they represent the arguments of each side we should be having these days.
MethDozer · M
@Burnley123 Generalisations are an integral part of any useful conversation.

Yeah we should adopt the strategy of ignoring him and all his strategies!😏 Although I’m guilty as charged since I made a post about him today.😳 But to be fair, it was my first and only one. I’ma go back to ignoring him now.🤓 Or at least trying to.😬

Yes trumps a total asshole but i think Nancy Pelosi is right, he's not important enough to bother imimpeaching hes just the front office clown
Ironically, Trump’s the one “triggered” into a response by any criticism by anybody. Comedians love that. He actually doesn’t like being a national joke, and his base doesn’t like it, either. They feel Trump deserves more respect, but they can all whistle for that, it’s not happening. He deserves the same amount of respect he gave his predecessor.

@bijouxbroussard Russia and China are playing him big time. They know if they give him the lavish praise his ego needs, and perhaps a small victory to tout to his adoring base, they can do whatever they want in the real world.

To address the original post, I don't think the trump posts are too many. After all, he is the biggest danger to the nation, and his actions just get more unpredictable and impulsive with time, further exposing his unfitness for office. To not speak out against evil would be the real travesty.
@windinhishair Agreed. 👍🏼

@Burnley123 : I love when she posts. One of best cartoon characters on SW.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@luckranger71 I just don't know whether she thinks it's true love or British sarcasm. 😝

You’re complaining about too many Trump posts. But this is a Trump post 🤔
MethDozer · M
@LadyGemini He's not complaining. He's asking a question in response to those who do.
LadyGemini · F
@MethDozer Hmm guess I read the post wrong. My bad y’all
MethDozer · M
Way too much. Then again it was the same when it was Obama in office.

Politics are stupid and being obsessed to the point one must always talk about them ( especially on internet threads) is damn near mentally deranged. Get a opersonality, life, and hobby.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@MethDozer I think we'll have to agree to disagree.
MethDozer · M
@Burnley123 That's fine.
Not trying to be a dick but how is politics a hobby and treating them as such a safe thing that doesn't make a mockery out of issues?

I'm asking seriously and wanting to see your take on it.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@MethDozer I don't think politics is safe and I don't always enjoy it.

It's time commitment and it sucks when your side or cause loses. I do enjoy it sometimes but maybe hobby is the wrong word.
