How much do you know about feminism?

I noticed that as I look through my other post, and talking with people who support it. A lot of similar things are said which makes me assume that many don't really care to research every problem claimed and said by the movement but rather repeat the same things said by other people. Don't believe everything a person tells you. Look into it yourself. Research history, studies/journals, etc. You can support feminism for all I care but at least if you're going to support it. Research your own claims.

@LittleAnonymousChick I'm an Anarchist, I don't believe anyone should hold power over another or take away someone's autonomy. The natural state of humanity is liberty, it's the state, economics and outmoded tradition that puts us in chains.
LittleAnonymousChick · 22-25, F
@basilfawlty89 You do realize that the government is what gives women freedom? A lot of the freedoms they have. Are more so the cause of gaining help rather than being independent. In anarchy even if it works well. Women will be far more dependent because they're gaining less help from the government and have to be more on there own to which there will always be social hierarchy among-st individuals.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@LittleAnonymousChick that's not what anarchism is. Anarchism is direct consensus democracy. The government gives no one freedom. Freedom is not given, it's taken. The state gives you limited freedom in exchange for subservience and having a monopoly on violence.

Feminism means equality, of course not everyone understands this but it does. Why be against feminism? Feminism just states things that are obvious because people ignore them. Yes men get raped but so do women! Yes there are lesbian women but there are gay men! In the US were women should have more right women still get paid less, there hasn't been a women president, and i am totally against abortion but I know that I believe women deserve to be able to make choices for themselves. Although I don't agree with everything I will defend all the rights they deserve!
LittleAnonymousChick · 22-25, F
@Rosesarered Feminism is not acknowledged as equality. The people in power who affect society and our laws think what benefits women means equality. Women aren't paid less for being women. They earn less because they work less hours, less likely to ask for promotions, etc. I wish you maybe would research on the claims you're making.

@GreensCornbreadYams I feel most women no longer have interesting in working around their 30's and so on. Feminism if for young women like myself but its a disadvantage for older women and mothers.

@GreensCornbreadYams Many women who are older poor and apart of the middle and poor would agree. It's not beneficial for women who start families and dont care for there job which is plenty but since its a social standard of course many women wouldn't take my stance. I believe men can speak on the subject... retarded to exclude someone based on there gender.

i don't need to research my claims, i have lived them.
LittleAnonymousChick · 22-25, F
@ladycae I disagree completely we were more advanced and as we got more advanced feminism became more rampant. There was definitley technology in the 1920s! You should really do your own research. Of course men were in control but the idea that women had absolutely no voice is a lie. As well as the fact that the wage gap is not because of sexism but what women earn. Women make less than men because they work less hours, less likely to ask for promotions, etc. A lot of it has nothing to do with feminism. In fact there are studies where WOMEN actually get paid more than men. If we talk about sexual assault here. You need to understand that, this isn't a gender issue but more so a human issue. People get sexually assaulted and that is an issue that needs to be solved. As well as the fact that men can have there own preferences. Plenty of men prefer intelligent women and others do not care. It all depends just like how women have preferences. I definitely do my research, It's clear you only skimmed yours.

go on child. you are so sure you know everything. there is no getting you to even entertain the idea of what t was like in the 50's and earlier, maybe someday you will take a women's study class and have to learn or fail. at 18 you haven't a clue. grow up some and i would be willing to bet your tune will change. i have ee trying to respond to you like an adult, but clearly you have the hubris of youth that makes you believe you have all the answers to all the world's issues and that you know everything.so i'm done.
LittleAnonymousChick · 22-25, F
@ladycae The fact that you are using my age is a sure sign you have nothing seeing as I talked to many older women who agree with me. I've been forced into a women's study class and trust me. Diverse opinions and questions are not welcome.

I know that feminism was started for the reason that women weren't given the opportunity to vote or work. However, there were exceptions. Women who were middle to upper class were allowed to vote, this was the same for men who were wealthy. And African American women were allowed to work.

Journals about what? and who wrote them? people usually are really biased regarding topics like this
LittleAnonymousChick · 22-25, F
@Dan193 Studies done by people who can't be biased. I'm aware people are biased I don't mind if people are biased but it gets tiring repeating myself. I'm biased myself

A bit, and I think it's safe to say that feminism has several different brands these days. It gets confusing though because they're all described by the same word. All depends on who you're talking to.
LadyGemini · F
Why are you against it?
LittleAnonymousChick · 22-25, F
@LadyGemini I don't need to support feminism to support the past. I don't need to support feminism to support women. Feminism has gotten a bad rap because it has affected society. I could careless about a yapping women but when she has control over the government then I don't acknowledge it. Men get raped. Yet we say nothing. This isn't a who's the biggest victim. All the issues you state men can deal with as well. You don't need feminism to want women to have freedom. I thank technology and birth control because without them women would still be slaves to their bodies. Feminism hasn't done anything. Technology and birth control has. Easy living has.

@LittleAnonymousChick HAHAHAHAHA ok
@LadyGemini I hate that women dont get paid equal.. thats just oppression.

i can see for womens rights but there are those who use it as just a means for man hating.
Wiseacre · F
Honestly, I am not sure what a feminist is..and have a hunch I'm not one.
tynamite · 31-35, M
I'm against feminism
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Depends on what you mean by feminism. If you mean equal opportunities, rights and respect, I cannot see whats wrong with it. I dont think women should be regarded as chattel, property, nor be prevented from working the line of work they want to or be prevented from studying which field they want to. Nor do I think that women should have to be married off if they dont want to be.
LittleAnonymousChick · 22-25, F
@basilfawlty89 I understand which is why I believe people like you come froma good place and if you actually researched and looked at both sides when it comes to who has more opportunities, legal rights, and more respect. You probably wouldn't support feminism as much unless you don't mind if men get the shorter end of the stick.
