When I tell people I want to live in the desert and they tell me it's hot:

@cherokeepatti I lived in the Okanagan valley and had a few encounters with rattle snakes and they do get your heart a pumping when you hear them rattle. But at least they warn you

@atlantic59 I live in Oklahoma and have had some encounters. They are bad enough but Mojave rattlers venom is a lot more potent.

@cherokeepatti I had a baby one go under my boots when I was rock climbing. And I heard how their venom is stronger than an adult

I saw some Pacific Rattlers that got run over on my way up the mountain with lots of rattles on it. I should have had a knife to cut them off but I was just walking up or down the mountain

@cherokeepatti Yeah I'll bet. Bob Dylan wrote All Along The Watchtower in the Mojave desert. And our beautiful tree planting camp cook was named Mojave. but I've only been driven on the highway there. Gorgeous Desert
