If they were 17 at the end of the war, they'd be 94 now. Reaching that age without medical support would be very unlikely.

@BlueVeins I think by the end of the war the Japanese were fielding soldiers younger than 17, so a hold-put might be a few years younger.

@Longpatrol I was reading yesterday about a battlefield in New Guinea where the dead soldiers remain to this day where they fell in battle.
