When is the last time you had sleep paralysis? Was it as good for you as it was for me?

TinyViolins · 31-35, M
Maybe 5 or 6 years ago. It was odd, because every other time before the accompanying hallucinations were pretty realistic scenarios, like having to ask people for stuff or running late for something. But this one in question I actually experienced something more sinister and demonic.

The messed up part about it all was not just how terrifying it was, but how ridiculous what I hallucinated was. I somehow dreamed up a mummy during my sleep paralysis. Like pulled from a Scooby-Doo episode level of corny. He had glowing red-eyes, necrotic skin, rotting teeth, and was covered in bandages, but wearing a hood, kinda like Moon Knight.

I felt so stupid being so scared of something so cartoonish.
@TinyViolins I couldn’t help but laugh at this. I would be terrified too to be honest.
I only had it once, in my 20s. I thought I was coming out of a nightmare involving war & destruction, and then it seemed I was awake and the nightmare was real and I was pinned under debris on a pile of ashes. It ended after a minute or two, but it was utterly terrifying while it was happening.
@ElwoodBlues yeah. I have had that. I know. Once I had it that this creepy painting of a woman fell on me and I was pinned down by her.

I've never had it happen to me but I've heard the stories
@MURD3RM0NK3Y I don’t recommend. Seriously.

@LilithoftheTrees It happened to my cousin. He told me he got lifted up out of his bed and was suspended into the air. He said he could see the big black shadows all around his room. They were surrounding him. He's 6 foot 2 inches 250 pounds. He said they lifted him like a feather. He came to my house and told me when it happened. It looked like he was about to cry
@MURD3RM0NK3Y I can believe that. When you have sleep paralysis, auditory and visual hallucinations can occur. Last time I had a big black shadow slapping my legs.
I've not had sleep paralysis, yet.

I get dream mollasses-ism when it's crucial I move fast and instead I'm slo-mo-ing it.
@Mamapolo2016 you’re lucky. What on earth is dream molasses-ism?😊
@LilithoftheTrees When it's cold, molasses runs very slowly.

@SW-User footsteps on the stairs is creepy as hell.
SW-User
I've experienced it. I feel like a lot of people don't really understand it though.
@SW-User yeah it’s been explained to an extent, it is still no less terrifying I think.

yes, that caused me a small amount of additional stress... I think I learned to fight it off and it stopped
@lumberjackslam good for you. I haven’t had it in a long time thank goodness.

The last time I had one was probably last year but I don't talk about it.
@Chickie yeah it’s not a fun thing to experience. Mine was last year as well.
lumberjackslam · 41-45, M
just about every morning a few years ago
@lumberjackslam every morning? How awful! I’m glad it’s not happening anymore. Where you going through a stressful time?
