Family can be so cruel

So Joel took grandma home and was going to shovel her driveway. He took the boys with him.

When they got there one of Joel's cousins was there already shoving.

He let the boys play with the snow while he helped his cousin finish the drive. They went inside to get the boys hit cocoa and for everyone to warm up.

He told me his cousin said that our boys sure get along very good. They were sitting at the table drinking Coco and playing with some hit wheels Grandma gave them.

They are best friends Joel told his cousin and he's really helped my boy not be so shy. He's really opened up.

He said he asked him how old my son is

He told him he was 7.

And this next thing he cousin said hurt Joel to his core

I give it two maybe 3 years before his boy out grows your son mentally and they wouldn't be friends anymore. So sad but what can you do.

Some people do not have filters and that is one, but Joel is friends with him anyway, despite having outgrown him.
I understand the friendship is likely on shaky ground.

@Poppies it was Joel's cousins talking about our boys. Saying my son would out grow Joel's son and they wouldn't be close as they get older

@Cigarguy Yes, I understood that. They will always be cousins whether or not they are always friends.

@Poppies Joel was very hurt by what his cousin said about our son's. I've never seen him so upset 😞

@Cigarguy oh 😬

@YoMomma it's just something Joel and I never thought about. But in reality it will probably happen. But I know they will always be close. They are brothers and they will love each.

@OlderSometimesWiser yes it was very hurtful. I don't see my boy ever outgrowing his brother. I think they will always be best friends. I really hope so anyway. The thought never crossed my mind that it could happen
@Cigarguy For what it’s worth, I foresee them being friends for life. 🙂

@OlderSometimesWiser thank you for that. I think so they are brothers and best friends I don't see that changing.
