A new game

So our oldest boy was been going to pt for a while now and his doctor wants to try AOFs to help correct him from walking on his tippy toes especially with his left foot. they came in today we ordered some cute ones with Mario and Zelda and other Nintendo things on it but I know he's not going to be happy about it and will not want to wear them.

We're going to go pick them up tomorrow. I know he's not going to be happy about this every time we go to a doctor's appointment he clings to either Joel or I with his eyes closed. Poor little guy I don't blame him he's been through a lot and his life.

So Joel and I came up with a plan for a reward system. we got him one of those Mario baseball games and as an incentive for him to wear the braces he'll get to play the new Mario game for a certain amount of time. The longer he keeps them on the longer he gets to play the game. Hopefully this will work and he will keep them on.

Wow. I didn't realize what his PT issue actually WAS. And I thought I had it bad when I was a kid. I kept running my shoes over on the sides, so my mother took me in and had orthopedic shoes prescribed...MUCH too late in my life to have any corrective benefit.

I hid a pair of cute shoes under a tree up at the bust stop, and every morning, I would take off those horrible, ugly Oxfords and put on my cute shoes...🤣🤣🤣

I LOVE the bribery scheme. I hope it works!

@4meAndyou yeah he walks on his toes more so with his left foot than his right, he also has poor muscle tone and very bad coordination and balance it has gotten a lot worse since he was in the hospital last year so we're just trying to build up his strength and correct his walking.

@Cigarguy My son had bow legs and pigeon toes when he was born. My pediatrician had me strongly bend his legs and feet in the correct way while his bones were still soft and malleable. His legs and feet are perfect today!

@4meAndyou hopefully this will help him in the long run.
