My friend Tom actually got bedsores on his tailbone when he was in rehab, and the sore kept splitting. The nurse finally sent him to a wound doctor. The wound doctor said that the cushion style above would actually be bad for a tailbone wound, because it spreads the cheeks a little bit, and the wound would have ended up splitting even more.
What he recommended is called a ROHO cushion, which is filled with small adjustable air pockets. It's extremely soft to sit upon, and is normally used by people in wheelchairs.
But I am super glad you found something that feels great on YOUR tailbone.

@4meAndyou When I had surgery they stuck a soft pad on the back of my calves and on my tailbone area to prevent pressure sores. Hopefully this cushion will help prevent them during my recuperation after the next surgery.

@cherokeepatti I pray that it will.

Good that you found something for you.
My lower back problems are more because of ham string pulls. I need the cushioning focused on the center of the lower back.
Laying on softball sized nerf balls seems to do the trick. Yet they are hard to find now.

@InHeaven oh yeah 4 surgeons doing it. It’s going to be an all-day deal. I’ll be sore for sure and take time to recover from all that. I was hoping it was over but it’s not.

@cherokeepatti oh man….thats crazy

@InHeaven yeah but I am taking it one day at a time nowadays, praying for the best. I’ve gone through more than I thought was possible. So I’ll keep on trucking.

I need to find some sort of neck pillow. The horseshoe shaped kinds don' t work. I tossed and turned all last night. Even with a new mattress I still wake up in pain. I have soft pillows, firm pillows, flat pillows, fluffy pillows, memory foam, feather. None work for me the whole night. I toggle between them all like goldilocks.

@rosyhills I used to have a dog-bone shaped pillow filled with little beads, that seemed to help my neck best of all the pillows that I tried.
My mother broke her cocyx when I was a baby, she has been using these kind of cushions ever since I could remember.
