How to respond?

Im having back pain still from chiropractor last week..my back realllyy hurt last week after a treatment, when it typically does not do that. But I'm there primarily for realigning my jaw, so I'd like to take a break from back treatments. Im going to say "I would like to only do jaw now, my back is sore", but last time when my back was tender, they said "You still need the treatment, even if sore, and that it would help it." I truly dont want another back adjustment so how do I respond if they say that? I really hate confrontation 🙁

Now you need to repeat that this back treatment is not helping you and you withdraw your consent for them to continue treatments on your back. Make it clear to them that they are there to treat your jaw and your jaw only.

If they proceed to attempt treatment after that, they do so without your consent and they're open to assault charges.

It's also worth calling another chiropractor and enquiring if it's common to do this back treatment with the treatment for your jaw problem - just to see if they are overstepping the line in some way.

@HootyTheNightOwl Ty my friend.🌻 I feel im being confrontational when all i want is to just stop one aspect of treatment.
@Coralmist I'm thinking that they're trying to screw you because you don't want to assert yourself - just like my doctors are with me.

@HootyTheNightOwl Well, I think they push the back and neck treatments for most, but with a cranio doc or peridontist, they would just be doing guarrds and splints to align my jaw, not back treatment too. Thats why I dont think getting back adjustment is needed WITH my jaw treatment...they want promote back health, but I didnt come in with a bad back. And when i mentioned once a year ago how tender the back was after treatment, they said oh another treatment will help it. So maybe they are pushing treatments on me because im passivw, instead of doing just my jaw.. idk. But ill send email saying I no longer need back , just jaw help and could tge price now be lessened.
@Coralmist Better yet... tell them that you are only going to be paying the price for the jaw treatment going forward from here - any future back treatments that they may feel the need to give you will be pro bono. That should put an end to that practice pretty quickly.

@HootyTheNightOwl I feel like they are not going to decrease my fee, and say " the back treatments were just included in the jaw aligning package. " but maybe they wont say that. Fingers crossed. Because now that we would just be doing my jaw, it should be decreased, I would think.

@HootyTheNightOwl Ty for your words and replies on this, appreciate it friend!🌺
@Coralmist If they keep being pushy, then you may have no option but to look elsewhere.

Geeze...I know that acupuncture is one of those treatments where you either love it or hate it - but I never had a treatment that made me hurt for two days like you describe. Not even when she put her hand straight on the muscle and moved it. I felt the muscle move under her hand, but it wasn't a painful experience... more of a warm sensation and a feeling of relief.

The worst thing I felt was after my first treatment when I went to McDonald's and this little crotch goblin decided to run full pelt straight across that area of my back. That was down to the parents for not controlling the little hellion.

It's not fair that they should make you suffer and call the pain "Progress" - when you are clearly not progressing anywhere. Do they even know whether your back issue is muscular or a nervous system problem??? That alone would be enough to make me stop the treatment... I was nervous about getting my back treated for that very reason.

@HootyTheNightOwl Thats the thing, I didnt come in with a back issue...and my back is observed every year by my doc at physical. They listened about my jaw issue then had me do x ray of spine and back...saying it was all basically integral and that most need b a ck alignment in addition. So essentially i had no problem..althoigh they said on x ray, See here? Your spine curves at top and that needs to be straight...because I was in dire need of jaw treatment I basically let them do back, but it has never hurt in a year like it did last week. So while it was a random thing that the tool hit it wrong, I just cant chance that pain again. Ty again for your ideas, it meant a lot🌹
