First day at a new job

and I'm all swollen, red & itchy. Benadryl has done nothing at all to help so I'll have to call my dr today.
I'm convinced I'm allergic to the new med I'm on...

I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope you find a solution soon. I'm thinking itching lotion for like poison ivy might help? I don't know. That may be too risky. Try calamine lotion. Be sure and shake it well. I know the pharmacy has anti-itching salve. You might try that. Please feel better soon. That's awful the very first day. I'm sorry.

@LadyGrace I pushed through it. I had to tell them it was an allergic reaction & not something contagious. Prednisone is awesome!!
@Tumbleweed WONDERFUL!!! I'm so happy for you.

The doctor will tell you to stop taking Wellbutrin immediately. Continue to take the allergy medication. But where the hives are spreading, I would go to the ER. Your airway COULD close. You MIGHT go into anaphylactic shock. Don't eff around with this.

@4meAndyou Me too!! I was getting scared when my throat started to swell!
4meAndyou · F
@Tumbleweed Never, never let an allergic reaction go for that long. Always get yourself to the ER when you break out in hives.

@4meAndyou At first I thought it was the lemon cookies but by day two, the hives were out of control & my eyes & throat had swollen!

Not sure what your new job is, but you may be allergic to something in your work environment?
Just a guess, you would know better.
Tumbleweed · F
@Teslin I work with the elderly in their homes

@Tumbleweed Thank you for doing this. It must be a very difficult job. My mom is almost 96 and needs someone to visit regularly.

@Tumbleweed 😢😢
Can you take a little bit of benedryl?
Tumbleweed · F
@Kiesel I've been taking it since yesterday morning & NOTHING
@Tumbleweed Awwww, so sorry.
If your throat swells or your tongue feels thick, you need to seek medical care. You don’t need to go into anaphylactic shock… 🤗
@Tumbleweed Sounds like you are mending nicely. 🙂

@Unefilletrescurieuse I'm completely healed now!!
@Tumbleweed awesome! 🙂
icedsky · 51-55, M
Definitely stop taking that medication.
Tumbleweed · F
@icedsky Oh wow!! So yeah, now I'm positive it's the med! I have hives everywhere and my face, hands & feet are swollen
icedsky · 51-55, M
@Tumbleweed Yes stop taking that and call your doctor as soon as you can.
Tumbleweed · F
@icedsky Definitely! Thank you! 🙂
Selah ·
You need to stop before you go into anaphylaxis
Tumbleweed · F
@Selah My throat was starring to close. I went to urgent care & he put me on prednisone & my throat is open now! My eyes are still swollen but I'm not itching anymore!
