I've not planted tomatoes this year but often have some growing in compost-bags on my little "patio". A watering-timer keeps them alive.
As well as the flavour of the fruit itself, I love the smell of tomato plants!

@ArishMell I find the odor "odd." There is nothing like the taste of a good, ripe tomato. I like to eat them as if they are apples. Did you know that they are in the same botanical family as "deadly nightshade?"

@samueltyler2 I don't know what the smell is. I think some of it might be acetone, which ripening apples evolve.
Oh, yes, I've often just picked one off the vine to eat it straight off!
Yes, I am fairly sure I've read previously about the tomato's deadly cousin! Isn't botany wonderful?
