Not sure what is going on in the second painting?

I would assume she's the bride of the son of the man with the moustache. It must be a French painting. French wedding parties used to be very strange, in the past.

Very incongruous, almost as though it has been photoshopped. The painting reminds me a little of American Gothic. A reassuring depiction of family life. About to be thrown into disarray by a young woman with disordered hair who either forgot to get dressed before sitting down to lunch or has discovered a mouse in her dress. The dog looks confused as well 😅
