Yes. I thought my brother's father was white my entire life, but he was light-skinned with soft curly hair. He laughed at me when I asked him after 25 years of knowing him. Everyone else thought he was too.

Yes, of course. Race is a spectrum with far more in-between areas than areas of definition. White? Black? Brown? We are all just people trying to get through a day.

It happens all the time. It was more common in the past when lighter skin Black people would “pass” as white if they could get away with it. One of my son’s friends is Black, but his wife is white and their daughter looks 100% white. In fact, sometimes when my son was with them, people assumed he was the kid’s father.
