I forgot to mention that part of my frustration with what has happened in the smartphone market is the misperceptions it will create.
Most people are not you know, Highly Technically inclined the way I happen to be, I am "Tech Savvy" relative to the "Normie" popopulation, which, Is a term I somewhat cringe at using because I don't really think being "Normal" is "Bad." but I do Take some pride in being "Tech savvy."
So one thing that is going to happen as a result of for example the Sony Xperia being so God damn expensive that you could get a pretty decent laptop for that price is that consumers that were not here for MicroSD way back when it first started showing up way back in 2005 before all the modernization waves and everything in order to know the cost of implementing this in your device is actually quite low for companies that manufacture tech devices by now and that the tech is actually accessible and very readily available depending on what world of technology you're using like it is definately in the Nintendo switch on the back end lower side with that flap that can expand out that some people use as a Stand for the damn thing, at the bottom of it there's a slot for them.
Well the thing is that it's been around for quite some time and just artifically dragged forward by A considerable amount of investment and effort from the SD association that really has effectively been able to keep other kinds of technology from ultimately replacing these cards by simply continutually refining them into faster and faster and higher capacity cards as I've been slowly exposing in order to demonstrate that Tech Firms have no intention of allowing the Technology to truly beome a Relic of the past.

9.1 is the latest specificiation for the technology, I dropped a white paper on the specification recently.
I think part of my interest in the SD Asssocation itself is
A. I Love MicroSD already, I think the Technology being so tiny is proof that Tech CAN improve the world as it's made Smuggling Data into and out of Dictatorships a lot easier and made life a living hell for Dictators the world over in the process and to me that's progress and Revolutionary. Although, We do need better energy if they could get on cleaning up our act there that'd be great. Better & cleaner.
B. I'm a Fan of Standarization efforts especially within the Industry as having 40 different devices all running propertiary formats is obviously going to cause issues like We're already needing Adapters for electric vehicle charging stations as everyone ran forward with their own charging ports and that's caused chaos for interoperabiltiy.
But, All of this said with the Xperia being basically the most expensive phone on the market and many authors penning that it's Audience is "Niche" and a "Niche audience" who cares about things like 3.5 headphone jacks and MicroSD all of this would add up to the impression that these are "Fancy" "Expensive" technologies even though they're actually Every day, mundane, hardly notewrothy, and Cheap to implement in reality.
We were called "Niche" for this concern but a lot of people complained about the removal of the 3.5 headphone jack and I just wanted to take a minute to explain the "Why" of why I care so much about this to those of you who like that kind of explaination on both things because it might show you why you should care yourself.
Firstly, I'm not a fan of bluetooth wireless headphones, They're expensive and that dependency on a Battery is something I Really don't like especially as they are not exactly 24 hour batteries that charge in an hour.
It's nice being able to go on long road trips with a digital audio player and listen continously for 8 or more hours a day..
With MicroSD the great part is I could get a folder system to sort and bring multiple cards with me.
Relative to buying a phone with 512GB or 1TB it's far more cost effective to buy a phone with an MicroSD card slot and throw in an 89.99 USD MicroSD card but another Downside to upgrading Internal Storage is there are Hard limits on how high they can go where as you can just bring multiple MicroSD cards with you and have a Pay as needed model of doing tings and just have a folder system you store yours in to keep them nice and from getting lost, This is a obviously a huge upside analogous to carrying multiple batteries with you when they were removable.
