Uninstalled ProtonVPN; Phone Works Much Better

And here I thought it was Samsung and/or Google screwing me over with my Galaxy A34 having battery, touchscreen, and performance issues this entire time. I knew that having a VPN would sort of mess up the internet, but I didn't realize it'd really mess other stuff. Prior to ProtonVPN, I used Warp which is more of a quasi-VPN where it has most of the features with some missing, and aside from thumbnails not loading for streaming apps and Twitch streams not working, it was fine. It encrypts all my data but doesn't actually hide/change my IP address nor can I choose servers.

While using ProtonVPN, I'd constantly have to switch to different VPN servers because it'd always randomly lag on me throughout the day until I did that. Also I hate that when switching to different wi-fi, the VPN would often not connect properly and also randomly disconnect sometimes, which I wouldn't realize until the key icon is missing at the top. The touchscreen itself would become less responsive, and in particular when in that UI where you can see all your apps after tapping the icon with the 3 lines, often tapping on another app would do nothing and I'd get pissed.

One day I just got sick and tired of the VPN always lagging and disconnecting on me, that I just went back to using Warp and I also signed up for TunnelBear as an alternative. Too bad it's limited to 2GB data per month; otherwise, I would've not had to need Warp as a backup. After restarting Android and uninstalling ProtonVPN, it's almost like I factory reset my phone without actually resetting my configs and removing all apps. To be fair, I've had such problems before without ProtonVPN, but it wasn't this bad and updating from Android 13 to 14 removed most of the issues.

Three long-winded paragraphs to say that? OK then.
I use Mulvad. Never have any problems.
