There where public phones and phone booths around for a long time.

@Nitedoc there are a few left in London now, but I think they are just for decorative purposes and not in use. The tourists love taking photos with them

@meggie There a few still standing here in the states but they have been stripped out. Guess nobody wants an empty phone booth.
