How do you recover data from a dead laptop that has an SSD?

Do you need a special adapter and have to physically unscrew the SSD from the laptop motherboard and is that difficult?

You could try an external SsD but it can be done the other way..plenty of videos on youtube

I had a laptop that wouldn't boot and a Computer place lost all my videos...sorry I couldn't be more specific
