@scooogy even when the system reacts upon hovering, sometimes it still doesn't click; I think it's just a Windows 11 issue

Wireless mouse?
uikakarotuevegeta · 26-30
@Bibipat hybrid actually, but the wireless dongle stopped working last summer, so I'm permanently using wired ever since

@uikakarotuevegeta I had the same problem with wireless one but if it is plug in and has no battery i don't know.
Sounds like it's an under powered machine running with battery time optimizations

@dirge if you consider i5 9300H, GTX 1050 MaxP, 3GB GDDR5, 16GB DDR4, and 500GB SSD to be underpowered for Windows 11, despite me not having such lag when plugged in, then ok
uikakarotuevegeta · 26-30
@dirge if you actually knew about how the CPU Task Scheduler for Windows 11 works, you'd know that only Core 12th Gen and Ryzen 5000 Series or newer CPUs are fully optimized for it
@uikakarotuevegeta I never claimed to be a winders expert and I think this is the first you've mentioned anything about hardware specs. my assessment was based on the fact that there are often system profiles that will prioritize various compute aspects to try to prolong battery life when not attached to a power supply and you'd said the issues went away when attached to a supply.
depending on what you've got set for power saving options, dropping cpu performance significantly is not an uncommon tactic

Restart with mouse in new USB port
uikakarotuevegeta · 26-30
@HumanEarth I don't think it's a mouse issue
