A hairdryer should be safe, but if there's water on the outside, there may be water on the inside. You might wanna put it in rice.

Make sure to do a backup of the important stuff if you didn't do already, the fact it works now doesn't necessarily mean it'll do for long 😬
About drying the screen I've no idea tbh

I would open it up and then use a dry piece of cloth instead of a hairdryer.

@Miram I've been fixing my sis and father's mess for years now. I don't get how people like you and my sister manage to drown your laptops. Lol
And btw, since the laptop is still wet, I strongly recommend you not to turn it on before it's dried well.

I wasn't home when it happened. I came back to my bag soaking wet and it had my laptop in it.
My baby nephew accidentally poured 1litre of water over it. He is just 4.

@Miram Oh, well, I hope you manage to fix it.
Open it and carefully dry it with a cloth. Then just pray for the best. Lol

If you can still bury it in rice in an airtight container. The rice soaks the water up really well.

I hope your laptop recovers well though 😌👌

Hairdryer should be fine.
There's also the encase in rice technique.

@basilfawlty89 Judging by the amount of water in that screen that'll require a whole paddy field or two 🥴
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@Elessar nah, not that extreme, just a big old bag, leave it in there for 24 hours. Eat the rice, not the laptop.
