I need a new laptop...when did they get so expensive ? I

I got an hp years ago, it was like 300$ and it was like top of hp line, more than what i even needed... i just need one so i can write and stream tv and movies. I always get them from Costco! You would think with school about to start back up, i could get a new one pretty cheap but no luck. I hate how expensive everything is getting, or maybe now that im a mom of 3, spending 500$ on myself is something that I am struggling to bring myself to dom

Look into a chromebook if all you are worried about is price and that is all you want to do with it.

@hippyjoe1955 I use to do that playing downloaded apps when I was young. I use to buy an HP Desktop until.......well it was destroyed by lots of Viruses. It's a learn lesson from that time by downloading so much random apps and learn from them either positive or Trash

@FreestyleArt Yeah I don't download many apps at all. I don't need them. I do like the lack of a hard drive on the chromebook though.

Most don't even come with basic software installed..
Just a web browser.
When I bought my HP it was loaded with software and features.. fortunately it's still working fine..
I recently bought a chrome book for basic web use. It came with no software installed at all

@Onestarlitnight chromebook is not really a computer, just q glorified web browser, i made that mistake one year

I know..
I needed one when I got laid off...
My computer has out of date software and I was having trouble accessing unemployment and jobsites.

All i use it for now is my online banking

If you have one that works , maybe up grading your drives, RAM, and video card might be cheaper
