My iphone 16's had a weird problem since yesterday morning

The FaceID just randomly stops working unless I restart my phone.

It'll work for a bit then stop working again.

Any idea what's going on or how to fix it?

Do you have facial hair? Sounds silly but the simple facial rec on phones do tend to have issues with facial hair and any change to facial hair.

It is not as bad as it was but still not great as someone who wears a beard during winter than shaves it off.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Hmm might be due to that, I keep a permanent 1 week shadow out of laziness haha
