Mint for the same reason as you! But i dont imaging going back. It can be frustrating but i never realised how insufferable Windows was til i tried something else

@Persephonee Oh I hear ya!! And to find out that, for the most part the things I do, I don't even need Windows anymore!! I was surprised at how my devices all worked without me having to install any drivers!!! I was beyond shocked. And what's nice is, I grew up using MS-DOS so the terminal in Linux is extremely familiar to me, and so I've been learning not only the terminal way to do things but also learning the same method through the GUI.

@Persephonee I did find a way to install windows without having to log in to a MS account which gave me some independence, but Fedora lets me do all I need without having to use terminal that often.

@Maturebate I've noticed with Linux Mint, you can do things in the terminal, and you can do those same things in the GUI. Like making a program executable. I like having the knowledge of being able to do it both ways, but will typically do tasks with the GUI over terminal.

I use Ubuntu and Zorin. I tried mint but I like these better. Anything Linux is better then the crap microsoft puts out.

I have one desktop on Linux Zorin and one on Windows 11😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Yeah I have a laptop I bought from walmart many years ago, and that still has Windows 7 Home Premium on it. Thought about changing it over to Linux and then thought well I'll keep it around just in case I need it for something, but so far I haven't needed it for anything regarding a need to get something from Windows or whatever or thought about anything I'd need to test etc.

@whowasthatmaskedman Zorin 18 I'm not sure about yet. But Zorin 16 I like the best out of Zorin flavors

Sometimes with newer machines you have to flash the boards with boot from USB support.
It's a new tricky thing that makers started doing to make you buy a new machine

My phone. Android. I'm sick and tired of the operating systems and computers. Like you I started with dos before msdos and cpm before that. It's all becoming a miserable headache.

We are Window's 11.
Never heard of Linux Mint ... I wanted to buy the new MacBook Neo but it didn't have the backlight keyboard. I currently have a Dell Laptop I use frequently.
