Whether it's a laptop or desktop PC, what is the operating system you use?

Ever since microsoft locked long time users out, I've since moved on and am learning a whole new system with Linux Mint. If all you do on the computer is get on the internet, or type a few things up in word or notepad on Windows, you honestly don't even need Windows anymore. You can do all of those things on Linux Mint!!

@HumanEarth Yeah I have to make bootable DVD's. I'm sure once I get more familiar with things and more comfortable I'll certainly check out other Linux flavors/distros.

Don't forget - there bootable USB to now

@HumanEarth Yeah I think it's my BIOS. I don't have UEFI, my BIOS is legacy, so booting from USB doesn't seem to work.
HumanEarth · F
Its turned off in the bios. In newer machines

@HumanEarth Yeah I built this one back in early 2015, like mid March.

Sometimes with newer machines you have to flash the boards with boot from USB support.

It's a new tricky thing that makers started doing to make you buy a new machine

Or upgrade their OS

Then you should be safe then
