Windows 11 Shenanigans

With windows 10 soon to not receive updates and the TPM requirements there is a concern of e-waste. Before throwing your system out please consider listing it. Make it a fair price and I can guarantee that a savvy Linux user will give it a new home and purpose. Perhaps you will be that Linux user.

I will probably never be a Linux user, but I hate seeing perfectly good pc hardware tossed out for no good reason.

I just got a windows 8.1 laptop from a friend i fixed it. And it says it needs a bios update but hp and on hp i cant find the bios update.

@496sbc hp usually has that support assistant program. I assume you found that. If you haven't them I would get the system info and go directly to the site. Unless they discontinued support

@Jessmari and u know i font understand. Something a guy said he got his 2007 laptop to take win 11 arm64. But a laptop thats new cant take it

@496sbc he forced it with a registry tweak, but it really isn't reccomended. Sort an at your own risk deal.

@496sbc https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/bypass-windows-11-tpm-requirement. This site has several options. I've never used them personally so you are on your own at this point. Good luck!
