Trump tariff regime is a joke - Trump is 'exempting' things like phones, computers, etc. made in China because it will kill Apple, etc.

And Trump without saying it outright acknowledges that Apple will never (without a very long lead time to create the necessary manufacturing facilities, bring in cheap Chinese workers, etc.) bring back iphone making back to the USA, and that the cost of a USA-made iphone made in the USA by US workers would be 4 to 5 times the present costs to buy them outright.

That would make the average cost of a brand new top line iphone here in Australia around A$10000 is Trump's tariff regime were to be copied here!

Pot Kettle Black for the Trumpariff's.

One can expect Chinese made cars will be next to get exempted.

I read an article that said for iPhone to be made here in the US, would cost $3500 USD. If CEO's of companies never shipped any jobs to any other country outside of the US, would we still have high prices to manufacture products in the US?

@twiigss probably because just like Australia that used to make cars the costs are high and consumers are drunk on cheap things.
