Incoming calls to my android phone have stopped showing up on home screen

The only way I can currently answer a call is pull down the notifications tab as the phone is ringing to answer it.

I didn't play with any settings/permissions for the default phone call app.

Any suggestions?

@Elessar I think I worked it out. I found a way to fix up the notification permissions by going into 'reset options' and restoring app permissions. Then I restarted the phone, and it's come good.

I have no idea why it happened but Android does auto-adapt app permissions, etc. based on usage. But my phone is used as a phone a *lot* esp at work (I don't have and don't want a second phone for work).
