What's the most random phone call you have ever gotten?

A lady called me once and we were on the phone talking for several minutes. Unfortunately she wanted to talk to my brother. She seemed very sweet

A call that my friend Nina needed money for bail. Good try but Nina is my service dog.

A man called and asked for my mother-in-law who lives 800 miles from here. It finally dawned on me why he called my number. It was based on some genealogical postings I had made, and he was one of my wife's totally unknown cousins who lived in far West Texas. We ended up meeting and exchanging information.

Somebody asking, "Is Cougah [Cougar] dere [there]?"

I got the most saddest call my Mother passed away age 58.

Right after we moved to this house about 23 years ago and got a landline with a new number I was getting phone calls from an elderly lady who was calling someone, I think one of her children. She had bad eyesight and would accidentally press some of the wrong numbers and get my number. It happened over a dozen times, she always apologized.

One with the same number as mine.

Hillary Clinton called and wanted me to vote for her. I tried to tell her I would but she wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise so I hung up. I voted for John Olinger instead.

Probably all the political ones I have been sending off to spam.

My grandfather passed away when I was a teenager. While everyone was out making funeral arrangements, I answered a call from someone wanting to pass on their condolences to my grandmother. I took the message and gave it to her when she returned.
Her response? "That person couldn't have called. They died years ago."
I'd never met them, never heard their name before, and had no reason to invent it. Still one of the strangest things that's ever happened to me. 📞👻
