I think i might be needing a new phone soon🙁

Dropped my phone last year and the screen starts to flicker in the top hand corner now and then.

I hate getting a new phone.
The research drives me mental.

Anyone got any recommendations?

My biggest 'must' is a good camera.
I dont care much about anything else except lotsa storage and being able to take nice photos.

Any help is appreciated to be able to narrow down the search.

I've been a dedicated Samsung fan for quite sometime now. I like the camera capabilities. The reliability of software updates too.
@icedsky you do take some incredibly STUNNING photos🥰

@OogieBoogie Its not me. Its the camera on the phone.
@icedsky ahh, well, maybe its both.
One has to notice it, compose the shot....you notice some very beautiful moments😊
Is your current phone shit or is it just the broken screen thats the problem? I went on amazon and found a screen for my phone for like $20 when i smashed it. Took about 30 minutes to replace. Few swear words and a few beers but its a cheap alternative
@MicrowaveDinner well thats a good point.

Right now.....its fine, not glitching or anything. But every now and then it starts to do it and everyone goes...."oooh you better get a new phone".

Tbh i never even thought to just get a new screen.

Kinda obviously really 😂🤦‍♀

Thanks 🤗
@OogieBoogie you're welcome. replacing the screen is defintely worth it if you're happy enough with the phone. Easy enough to do if you watch a youtube video too

Pixels are good with the advantage of pure Android and almost instant updates... Samsung are good but often restricted to two years updates
@Convivial i must admit that i get quite a few updates with new features every so often
I had my old phone many years, it got where aps were unusable on it. couple months ago I upgraded to a Galaxy S25 it took some getting used to but the sound quality and camera is much better than previous.
@Bexsy My last phone was a galaxy. I liked it. I nearly stuck with that line, but then the google pixels came out and i was flush at the time....and the advertising got to me🙄

I have just been checking out the Galaxy's video quality - has real nice sound.

I've no complaints about the pixel, but i kinda got spoilt with a Sony phone i had years ago - and keep chasing that amazing photo quality.

Your phone comes in frequently high on 'best of' lists.
Just buy a good camera and ditch the phone entirely.
@NudasPriest i take photo moments as they appear in my daily life, often sky and nature shots.
I think if i bought a separate dedicated camera, itd be rare that I'd have it on me🤷‍♀

I have a Pixel the last two phones which are very decent Android phones with good cameras and good support...

but I'd be tempted to look at the new Motorola razr fold also.
@StygianKohlrabi i currenty have a pixel. Ive quite liked it .

My fave one i ever had was a Sony: awesome phone. But they stopped making them.
They've started back up, but im too much of a clutz to be left on my own with over 2 grands worth of tech in my hand😅

I am thinking about staying with the pixel line - its been a decent phone so far.
Altho Xiaomi do good cameras too.

@OogieBoogie Pixels are nothing exciting but they get the job done 💪
@StygianKohlrabi true. This one has taken many falls and is fine at the moment, (no issues or glitches....but when they happen....it scares me).
Its been a real work horse for me.
