I only use a laptop with a portable wifi dongle

For several months now it has been misbehaving - failing to connect, very slow or constant buffering, “insert sim card and restart”
I have been lax in getting something done about this issue
Made an appointment with telstra to change over to an updated model without changing my plan.
Have you ever had this problem?

Dongles are usually slow.
I used them in very remote locations.

A router is much faster if have much faster broadband access.

That looks like a hot spot. Maybe you can get a 5g

WTF is a dongle?
Gusman · 61-69, M
@RedBaron No, a dongle is not the same as a router; a router is a central hub that connects multiple devices to the internet, while a dongle is a small, portable device, often a USB, that provides internet connectivity to a single device

@Gusman Why do you need that if you have a router?
Gusman · 61-69, M
@RedBaron I do not have a router. I only have a laptop which requires connectivity to the net.
