Apple Introduces The M2-Max Chip

This was Apple's best kept secret. Usually, rumors swirl around, months before a product release. This time, Apple managed to keep all the details hidden, until yesterday.

I was getting tired waiting for the MacBookPro M2 chip update, so finally I log into the Apple site, to order, and bam, there it was: the new MacBookPro with the M2-Max chip, announced yesterday. No hike in price.

67 Billion transistors on a single chip, and my new system will arrive by Jan 24, so no supply issues. Apple decided to go ahead with the 5nm process, and give all its business to TSMC, in return for a production priority schedule.

TSMC makes AMD's chips too.

@Crazywaterspring TSMC makes all the high end CPUs for AMD, Intel, and Nvidia . All three companies slashed orders, a few weeks ago, an expected move, due to slowing demand. Apple is in a different position, with high demand for the M2 Pro and M2-Max.
