If you block someone's number on your phone, do they know about it? Or does the call just say 'busy' or whatever?

I want to temporally block my cousins number because she calls all hours of the day for trivial things, but I want to keep my phone on because I need to be alert to important calls

And asking her not to call every 30 seconds doesn't really work either 🤦
