Do you have a pet?

We did. We had to put them down a few years ago. We had two dogs, American Eskimo Dogs. They were brothers that we got when my twin bro & I were babies. When we hit high school, they were pretty old and then one year one of them got sick (liver problems) and needed to be put to rest. It was awful. The next year the other one started walking into walls and hiding in corners and snapping at us and lost all enjoyment of life. He wouldn't eat, sometimes for days, and then when he did he would be growling at us for just being in the room. They called it dementia. He was also the put to rest. They are both buried in my back yard at home.

We have three cats and a chinchilla. The oldest cat, my son found outside six or so years ago. We weren't sure we were going to keep her or not, but got her fixed and all her shots. She turned out to be really sweet. (We were worried about her being too wild.) The two other cats are brother and sister. A friend owns a brewery nearby, and they found a pregnant cat wandering around outside. She was too wild to catch, but they built her a shelter, gave her food and clean water, and so on. Then took the kittens when they were just starting to wander around. The chinchilla we got from a friend of a friend who could no longer keep it.

And we're thinking of getting a dog, because our house isn't enough of a zoo, I guess...

i have a cat. it follows me around the house. around the yard too. it lays in my lap purring when i sit. sleeps next to me in bed when i go to bed. it purrs a lot and likes being petted. cat likes being carried around too.

I have 6 cats and 4 dogs. They are all rescues. I too am a sucker for pets who need homes.

A week after my dog was put to sleep, we got another dog, a puppy who healed our hearts. He's laying at my feet right now as I type. ☺

Had fishes when my children were young but no pets since.

No, I wish. But I like to think of my parents' pet as mine sometimes.
