Cats can suffer anxiety and depression when separated from their bonded humans for prolonged periods of time. Studies show that cats form very similar attachments to humans as do dogs, but their signs of affection are different. Cats are indeed more independent and not slavishly obedient, but if that is why you don't think they love then maybe the problem in the relationship is you, not them. 😏

@ViciDraco do you know what oxytocin is? It’s the “love chemical” in the brain. It’s released in both dogs and humans when they interact with each other. For cats, when interacting with their human they release less oxytocin than humans do when they have a positive interaction with a stranger. So no cats don’t “love you,” though they might find you agreeable
