NEVER!!!
Kidding... kinda...
I’m definitely a dog person but when my previous poodle died I couldn’t handle not having a pet and I wasn’t ready for another dog so I adopted a cat. They aren’t as needy and time consuming as dogs and it allowed me to have company. I some how ended up w 3 cats and finally was able to get another poodle... but they all know the dog comes first and he is definitely more loved!

@DarkLadyNight yeah...when I got my pittie my cat took a back seat. Still feel guilty about that. That cat was great

Well they all sleep on the bed with me and get along so that helps but dogs are way more intent on you.
And it’s hard to have multi pets and not love one more than the other

Never. And, if a dog person is even contemplating getting a cat, they should be branded with a "T" for traitor and never, ever, allowed to have a dog again.

@SW-User I have had the displeasure of meeting my share of "Dog people". They are typically people who need to be needed and feel as though they are actually in control of something in their lives, even if that something amounts to nothing more than a malleable "companion " who depends on them for almost every basic requirement...food, shelter, bathing and even going for a walk. They treat them like children, only they are infants that will no grow up to think for them selves , or be able to get a job and move out.
Fyi, my cat actually texted the above statement....nit because I trained him to, but because he wanted to. 😂

When you are renting like me and your lease says no dogs.

Never. They don't deserve a cat.

@SW-User depends on the cat. Some are amazing, some are trash
SW-User
@Dayeshadow cats are amazing....as are animals in general. Many people are trash, and cats know it.
