What are some things dogs cannot eat?

@WillaKissing I have wondered about the chocolate. Back in the early 60’s my grandpa lived in a tiny village and had a black lab. He was trained to do a few trick. Mid-morning 6 days a week some of the farmers would gather for a break to get something to drink and chat at the little general store a block up the hill. Skeeter’s ears would perk up when he heard the tractors approaching the store and he would trot up the hill to the store. Scratch on the screen door and a farmer would let him in. He’d do his little medley of tricks and would be rewarded by a farmer ( they took turns) who would take turns buying him treats. It was either a chocolate candy bar or an an ice cream sandwich with a chocolate cookie base. Chocolate didn’t seem to phase that dog.

@cherokeepatti Lucky for that dog, it has taken a few of mine to the vet for a weeklong stay to save their lies from Diarrhea. the vet was very angry the second time and I told the Wife of the time she was taking the dog to the vet to hear the rant because she was the one letting and promoting the kids to feed the dog the chocolate. Needless to say, when she came home without the dog because it had to stay to be saved by the vet all she could say was I guess you were right. And I thank God we divorced a few years later, she did everything I said do not do, including finding another over me. And I am so glad to be free of her shit Literally. Our family dog was a miniature Dachshund and could not handle the chocolate like a lab, enough Choclate and the lab would have been affected.

@WillaKissing We didn’t know that chocolate was bad for dogs back then. But was told not to share desserts and cookies because it would give dogs worms. The farmers were feeding that dog the treats.
