My cat used to "make biscuits" in my lap a few months after he arrived. He finally got used to me and became friendly. Unfortunately, his claws were sharp...so for a while, my upper thighs were covered in tiny pin pricks...🤣🤣🤣

My Binx rarely does it, though I do love it when he curls up on my lap. Its rare he ever does that. My favorite thing he does is chirp at me when I enter a room, like "Whats up?"
