Wow!!! Adorable ferals!!! A friend of a friend is feeding 10 ferals right now...probably soon to be 20 ferals, because he refuses to take them in to be spayed or neutered...free of charge.

@4meAndyou Seriously? I just think that's wrong. I used to have birds at the feeders. But the feral cats kill them. Also they crap all over my lawn furniture and make a mess of the place.
I have a neighbor who feeds them. Now they're everywhere and most of the other neighbors are NOT happy with the people who are feeding them. They've become a menace.

@4meAndyou You only have to "fix" a few to make an impact on the population.

@carpediem I went to a LOT of trouble to search out a place that will spay and neuter ferals free of charge for people on low incomes in Massachusetts, and I had my friend pass on that information to HIS friend, who just can't be bothered, apparently. I believe he LOVES the feral cats almost as much as he loves his chickens, and he feeds them.
Don't worry...if things get out of control on his little chicken farm I am sure that animal control will step in.

@UnderLockDown I don't know if this guy just can't be bothered, or if he just WANTS to drown in kitties. He takes a LOT of photos of them.

@carpediem My grandmother used to let her cat out all the time. He was a beautiful long haired ginger cat named Alphonso, but she called him Fonso. The cat became a nuisance and kept getting into the neighbor's trash barrel.
The neighbor set out some meat laced with rat poison. My grandmother was crushed when Fonso died...but she couldn't afford kitty litter, either. She HAD to let the cat outside.
It's too bad the neighbor couldn't have come and spoken to her first...because rat poisoned meat is VERY final.

@4meAndyou No one is poisoning cats here. They do however, put out live traps to catch them and relocate them. The place is overrun with these invasive troublemakers. Everyone is removing bird feeders because they become a magnet for these cats to catch and kill birds. It’s not a good scenario

@carpediem One problem, also, with feral cats, is the fleas. I used to work with an Alzheimer's patient who broke her hip, and she continually fed the feral cats, and asked us, also, to put food out for them. It wasn't surprising to me that her HOUSE cat soon came down with fleas. She just couldn't understand why he was licking off huge strips of his own fur.
